Commercializing FASForm™, a patented process that fractionates coal into naphtha, jet fuel, diesel, FASCarbon™ Solid Fuel, sulfuric acid, & fertilizer.
Everybody’s got an opinion about energy.
We wrote ours down years ago and signed our name to it.
ESG cracked.
Demand exploded.
The doomsday model got buried.
Here’s how it aged: frontieras.com/insights/the-…
China builds an EV every 46 seconds in factories with no lights and no workers. Robots killed the cheap-labor advantage. What’s left? Energy cost and logistics. The U.S. wins both — if we build the energy.

First place. 7th grade. Coal fair in Kentucky.
Kevin built his project around our technology and the products locked inside coal, and had coal engineers stopping to ask questions.
This is why we do what we do. Welcome to the #Frontieras family, Kevin. 🏆
China makes 78% of its urea fertilizer from coal.
American farmers can't fertilize their fields this spring because of a conflict in the Strait of Hormuz. We are the Saudi Arabia of coal. We were talked out of using it - by a gas company, by Beijing-linked foundations, and by politics.
That ends in Mason County.

60,000 man-hours of engineering. U.S. patent granted in 2018. 9 countries on 5 continents.
FASForm™ was always designed to operate at refinery scale. The hardest engineering problem was making it small enough to test.

We did not invent the equipment. We invented the architecture.
Distillation, hydrotreating, sulfur recovery. Used in thousands of facilities for over a century. FASForm™ integrates them in a configuration no one has tried before.

Broke ground April 2 on the first commercial-scale FASForm™ facility in the U.S.
Mason County, West Virginia.
2,000 construction jobs. 200 permanent.
Zero waste by economic design.
Had the opportunity to participate in the @Frontieras groundbreaking ceremony in Point Pleasant today. The site will be the first to deploy the company’s patented FASForm process—a zero-waste system that converts coal into fuels, hydrogen, fertilizers, and industrial carbon products.
I am proud to support @Frontieras in creating new opportunities for our coal industry while reducing waste and driving innovation.
Frontieras North America is proud to announce that we will officially break ground on our first commercial FASForm™ facility in Mason County, West Virginia, on April 2, 2026.
This is a defining moment for our company and an important step in bringing our patented technology to commercial scale. The project represents an estimated $850 million industrial investment, with the potential to create approximately 300 full-time jobs and 2,000 construction jobs during the build phase.
More importantly, it reflects our belief that America’s energy regions remain vital to the country’s industrial future. At Frontieras, we are committed to building infrastructure that delivers value at scale — converting coal and other hydrocarbons into high-value fuels and products through a zero-waste, closed-loop process.
We’re excited to celebrate this milestone with our partners, elected leaders, and the Mason County community.

We live in the most technologically advanced era in history.
We have AI, advanced modeling, global capital access, and more data than any generation before us.
So why does it feel harder than ever to build?
In “The Disney Paradox: Have We Gained Knowledge and Lost Wisdom?”, Frontieras North America CEO & Co-Founder Matthew McKean explores the gap between knowledge and wisdom — and why America’s infrastructure challenge is no longer about tools, but about execution.
In 1954–1955, Disneyland went from farmland to opening day in 366 days.
Today, major infrastructure projects can spend years in delay.
This isn’t a knowledge deficit. It’s a wisdom deficit.
The article also outlines how Frontieras is taking a different approach:
building infrastructure, not commentary — with a disciplined, execution-first strategy for energy innovation.

For decades, early-stage energy infrastructure followed the same script: private capital first, institutions next, public access last—often after the early value was already captured.
Frontieras North America took a different route: Built first. Funded later. For seven years, our founders self-funded the engineering, refined the commercial model, and secured a globally defensible patent portfolio for Solid Carbon Fractionation (SCF). Only after IP protection and scaled validation did we expand access through Regulation CF and Regulation A .
Now execution is real: we closed on our flagship site in Mason County, West Virginia, and our groundbreaking is set for April 2, 2026—marking the transition from validation to infrastructure deployment for an $850M project designed for 7,500 tons/day capacity and meaningful job creation.

@Frontieras has completed feasibility engineering for FASGEN™ — a co-located platform built to preserve, modernize, and revalue the U.S. coal fleet as AI-driven power demand accelerates.
The reality is simple: the AI economy needs always-on, high-density baseload power, and the grid can’t be rebuilt overnight. FASGEN™ upgrades coal before combustion using our patented FASForm™ process, turning existing coal plants into multi-output energy hubs that can deliver cleaner dispatchable power plus liquid fuels, hydrogen, and industrial products — without subsidies and without starting from scratch.

As a major winter storm moves across the Eastern U.S., hundreds of thousands to more than a million customers have been left without power—a real-time reminder that energy reliability isn't a talking point, it's survival.
Extreme cold, ice, and grid stress don't wait for perfect conditions. And neither does modern demand especially with data centers and Al workloads requiring nonstop, high-density power.
At @Frontieras, we believe the next era of American growth requires energy systems built for reality: scalable, resilient, and engineered to perform when conditions are at their worst—not their best.
Because when the weather hits hard, the country needs power that shows up.
Energy. Reimagined.

Big news! @Frontieras North America is bringing a $850 million coal reformation project to West Virginia, creating more than 2,000 construction jobs & 200 permanent jobs, many paying over $100,000.
This is a big win for our workers, our coal industry, and all of West Virginia.
@Frontieras has officially closed on a 183-acre riverfront site in Mason County, West Virginia, where we will build our flagship $850M FASForm™ facility.
This marks a major step forward in our plan to commercialize coal reformation technology at full commercial scale—transforming coal into fuels, fertilizers, and industrial carbon products through a zero-waste, no-emissions process.
The project is expected to generate:
✅ 2,000 construction jobs
✅ 200 full-time positions in Mason County and surrounding areas
The site was selected for its strategic infrastructure advantages, including:
• Over one mile of Ohio River frontage for barge transport
• Class I rail access via CSX to support national and export distribution
We’re proud to build in West Virginia and contribute to long-term industrial growth across Appalachia.
