One of the more boring commemorative coins we've had - commemorating the abdication of Queen Margrethe II and ascension of King Frederik X. The minting quality itself also hasn't been great since the Finnish Mint took over the production of Danish coins. #coins #numismatics

Some were quite simple, just coins soldered to a safety pin. After being upset with our queen for fleeing she soon became a symbol of resistance when she started talking to us via the BBC but also because the Nazis tried so hard to make her look bad. It made us like her more.

I had to at least get a couple of coins with me home from Copenhagen. There were too many people for my taste, so didn't bother to sit and spend a lot of time looking through binders. Instead I looked at the more costly displays and chose this 4 mark 1681: #coins #numismatics

It's always an interesting task trying to fill albums with countries where I don't have enough coins to justify them getting their own, and still getting it to make a little bit of sense geographically. So Canada and Iceland - you're now album buddies 🇨🇦 🇮🇸 #coins #numismatics

In addition to that, it unfortunately looks like my local coin club is going to shut down, as it has proved impossible to find volunteers to be on the board. Not sure if I will be able to find and join another one or if I will just be even more inactive in this hobby 😕

Apologies for the inactivity on here - I haven't dealt with coins for a while, and the destruction of Tweetdeck means that getting onto this account just doesn't happen as often as before.

The "coin season' started this weekend with the local (very small) coin and stamp fair. I usually don't want to buy too much as I can probably get most of it cheaper at the coin club auctions, but this year I decided to at least support a little in the hope that it doesn't fold.
