We have joined the Silk Road Think Tank Association (SRTA). The #SRTA brings together think tanks from the Belt & Road Initiative (#BRI) to discuss how to upgrade collaboration across & among BRI countries. The #Maritime #SilkRoad of the BRI spans across the #IndianOcean #IOR.

The Geopolitical Cartographer participated in the 9th edition of the Indian Ocean Conference, hosted by the Government of Mauritius and the @India Foundation. Admiral Jayantha Perera (Retd.) addressed the session on maritime security and the attack on IRIS Dena.

A luncheon meeting was held with the IORA Secretary-General to discuss regional cooperation and academic collaboration, reaffirming appreciation for the IORA Academic Group and its commitment to research-driven policy engagement.

Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 has huge opportunities for green and reviewable development. I am very much looking forward to visit Sri Lanka 24-27 January. I will meet old and new friends, political and business leaders and activists. I will speak about Renewable Energy in the Indian Ocean at an event hosted by Geopolitcal Cartographer. I cannot wait to be back to Sigriya with the Zero Plastics movement. It is opening a new center for ecological tourism. Cyclon Ditwah hit Sri Lanka hard in December. More than six hundred people perished. I expect many discussion about climate change, disaster preparedness and green sustainable development.

It was a pleasure to meet @RW_SriLanka and Dr. Maithree Wickremesinghe. I am proud of our work together to restore economic stability in the aftermath of the 2022 financial crisis, including U.S. support for Sri Lanka’s agriculture sector’s recovery, and to expand maritime security cooperation. Truly grateful for commitment and support to champion the U.S. -Sri Lanka partnership over the last four years and his efforts.
