This is a really nice, concise summary of something we are usually aware of as teachers but cannot always articulate. The feeling of what learners are able to process in any one learning episode. Thank you!
SCIENCE:
If you don't make mistakes, you're doing it wrong.
If you don't correct those mistakes, you're doing it really wrong.
If you can't accept that you're mistaken, you're not doing it at all.
Not the case at GES! 38% of Y11 and an impressive 44% of Y10 students study physics! Next year's numbers will increase due to the hard work and dedication of @GESdoha_Science to provide exciting, challenging, and accessible lessons. #futurescientists#futureengineers
You won’t hear too many teenagers saying Physics was their favorite subject in school, but that was the case with Zeina Barghouti. Today, Zeina graduates as a mechanical engineer from @TAMUQ. We're so proud of you, Zeina.

Our Year 10 Chemists are combining revision with developing new IT skills, creating revision videos. Completely open brief, they can use live-action, animation apps, stopmotion, whatever they like. The first completed effort is by Ahmad using @biteable: biteable.com/watch/3000716/0…
COMPETITION TIME: Year 8s have 2 lessons and the holiday to design and create their own Mars rover. Teachers also encouraged to try this. Deadline is May 16th. Good luck!

I'm going to lose my job soon. The Year 10 Chemistry students make more engaging lessons than I can! @ChemixLab method diagrams, #physicsandmathstutor questions and #QR codes to scan for extension work. I might let them plan the whole scheme!
A really useful chemistry intervention session for Y11s today ahead of their final mock exams next week. Thanks to @WhiteboardFi for their fantastic online mini-whiteboards that helped make the session as interactive as possible!
"An early lightbulb moment for me, as a teacher, was understanding that a resource doesn’t make a lesson"
This really resonates. Excellent resources here to help us consider how to sequence teaching, diagnose and address misconceptions. Thank you!

As part of a whole school literacy drive, the Science Department is incorporating more written tasks into our schemes of work. Good English literacy drives up grades across the board, and we are really impressed with all our Y8s for their postcards in today's lesson! @GESdoha_Sec
