We must re-establish the link between finance and holistic development to drive sustainable development. For Africa, this means using our natural, human, and financial resources, not just to generate wealth, but to reinvest in the future of our people and communities. Botswana is a shining example of this approach. The country has achieved significant economic and social progress by reinvesting revenues from its diamond industry into education, infrastructure, and healthcare. This is the blueprint. Leveraging resources to build wealth, reduce inequalities, and transform our economies for the long term. Africa has the potential. Let’s commit to reinvesting in our development!

Across countries in Africa and the Global South, women continue to: 1. Carry the burden of unpaid care work. 2. Face barriers in accessing reproductive health services. These are not accidental, they are structural. It will take reformed structures to implement equity.

20 years ago, I was studying abroad at the @UnivofGh. Like spaceflight, it was a positive, life-changing, perspective-deepening experience. Seeing the beauty of Ghana from space reminds me of the amazing people I met there and how in exploring the world, we learn about ourselves.
