May Day is THE day for international worker solidarity! Across the globe, working people stand together to recognize our collective labor history and struggle. On Friday, the GEU welcomes you to celebrate with us, side-by-side with your fellow workers. When we fight, we win!

99.3% of participating members approved the tentative agreement, officially ratifying it! Thank you to all who participated in the vote. Next stop: the Connecticut legislature!

After 7 months of intense organizing and negotiations, the member-elected bargaining committee has finally reached a tentative agreement with UConn! We protected our contract and GAs from attempts to weaken our existing rights, and expanded our rights with new contract articles!

Thank you Steven and Susan Gottlieb. As lifelong educators, they know the importance of treating teachers with the respect they deserve! Come at noon to Fairfield Way to show solidarity with graduate workers and deliver our petition to UConn. Connecticut is with us, is UConn?

This GA was charged $927 for their ADA accommodation -- a reserved garage parking spot. Graduate Assistants are charged more for garage parking than professors who are making far more. Even GAs with ADA accommodations are forced to pay crazy prices for garage parking spots!

Let’s hope UConn ESTABLISH's a fair contract and makes real CHANGE for graduate workers. As for us, we hope you would consider signing our petition calling on UConn to invest in higher education by agreeing to a fair contract. Link in bio.

UConn just loves to be on top. And here we are again, paying the most. UConn’s scale doesn’t even see us. Just a suggestion! Being "Connecticut's flagship" university could also mean striving for success in how you treat your workers. A fair contract would be a great start.

Other universities recognize the importance of protections for International GAs, and it's time UConn does the same. We stand in solidarity with all workers, regardless of citizenship. We're fighting for these modest and common-sense protections. Help us: Sign the petition in bio

While UConn placates us with suggestion boxes that don’t change their decisions, we are left without a spot. We have to pay the same as employees that make far more than us and are left with not enough parking and no guarantees. Here’s a suggestion. We want a fair contract.

A 34.19% increase in fees now takes 6.59% of our stipends. Our contract promises yearly stipend increases, yet rising fees continue to cancel them out. GAs are workers! We already pay health insurance premiums. So why are we still charged $896 in student health and wellness fees?

Thank you UConn parent John Devivo for your video of support! It means so much. Parents know our working conditions are students’ learning conditions—and that no worker, regardless of citizenship, should fear deportation for showing up to work. Sign our petition (link in bio).

We can’t work if we can’t park. 4.75% of your take-home pay! We pay even if you don’t get a spot. We pay even more when we get a ticket because the lots are full. Some things would be simpler if we made them simpler. Like a fair contract.
