We should not only look at what problems people see in the existing system, but also consider whether they think minipublics can do better (or not) in those regards. Only then can we uncover if people see minipublics as a solution to the problems they perceive in today's politics

Our findings indicate that Belgian citizens think of minipublics as problem solvers, albeit to different degrees. More so for some problems than others. And more so for some people than others. This allows us to paint a nuanced picture of why people are in favour of minipublics.
