The Judicial Qualifications Commission just made it official.
Jen Jordan and ShaMiracle Rankin are not running to be impartial judges. They’re running as partisan activists.
Their joint TV and social media ad — where they stand side-by-side and say “we’re running for Georgia Supreme Court to fight for what’s fair” and “we’ll fight for you” — is a textbook violation of the rule against judicial candidates endorsing each other. Not subtle. Not close.
Worse, Ms. Jordan went to pro-abortion rallies and straight-up promised voters she would “RESTORE ABORTION RIGHTS” if elected. She even shared the “Reproductive Freedom for All” endorsement calling her a champion for it. That’s not judicial temperament. That’s a candidate prejudging cases that will absolutely come before the Court.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — these two are wildly partisan hacks who want to drag politics into the courtroom. Replacing Sarah Hawkins Warren and Charlie Bethel with this kind of activism would do real damage to the credibility of our Supreme Court.
We have two bright, serious jurists who have put service ahead of money and politics. They’ve earned another term.
Election Day is tomorrow, May 19.
If you want judges who follow the law instead of activist promises, reelect Warren and Bethel.
That’s how we keep politics out of the judiciary.
