The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

What if Fable's limitations are made up, so that you actually can't put it to the test to see what it's capable off? I mean @elder_plinius jailbreaked it and it was not that impressed. What if it's all just marketing? The model refuses to audit any codebase. Something's not right.

The Zcash halo2 bug is still alive in @equilibrium_co Zair and @ChainSafeth forks.
Not in Zcash itself. They patched it.
But the same vulnerable pattern is still sitting in downstream repos that kept old Orchard / halo2 dependencies.
This is exactly how crypto bugs survive.

This is the ecosystem problem with crypto security.
A main project patches.
Forks stay behind.
Dependencies remain pinned.
Old branches get reused.
A new team builds on top without realizing the risk.
And suddenly an “old” exploit is alive again.
