The changes made to #WASPI #50sWomen state pension age were announced at the 1993 Budget, over 30 years ago and well publicised at the time. Here’s an article written the week before the announcement. independent.co.uk/news/uk/pe…

#Backto60 #CEDAWinLAW #50sWomen Are you aware of todays news re WASPI? Whatever happened to ‘Full Restitution’? Does it taste like Victory or just sour grapes? 🤭

‘Coalition of #50sWomen groups ‘may’ launch a Judicial review’ is a bit like me saying I may win the Jackpot on the National lottery this week! It’s nonsense, they’ve got no ‘teeth’ and certainly no funds to launch such an action! It’s just a ‘threat’ 🤡 pembrokeshire-herald.com/130…

Now. ‘We have now received a written response from the office of Pat McFadden MP stating that “no further correspondence will be entered into” regarding the injustice suffered by #50sWomen affected by State Pension age changes’ Nothing about your threatened Judicial review?

This morning’s latest from #50sWomen for Justice. ‘We must place on record our serious objection to the assertion that “no further correspondence on this matter will be entered into” So no threatened JR but a ‘serious objection’ 😂 I bet they’re really quaking in their boots!

I can’t believe I’m reading this?! ‘Angela Madden, chair of the WASPI campaign, said some may ask 'Why should millionaires get compensation?', the answer is simple: "Because they have suffered injustice." So I guess that makes sure it includes the #WASPI Leadership? 🤭#50sWomen

Here’s a blast from the past from nearly 7 years ago! Are there any further updates from #Backto60 #CEDAWinLAW regarding their campaign for #50sWomen Justice? They’ve also spent 3 years asking for ‘mediation’ and that seems to have gone nowhere! What Justice has been served?

Only for a 28-month delay in writing to some #50sWomen women. After the latest review by the DWP the answer in 12 weeks time is likely to be the same. No compensation.
Maladministration is proven. Undisputed. #50sWomen #50sWomenFullRestitution

Thanks. Another one to add to my long list of newspaper articles #WASPI #50sWomen will say they missed / didn’t see / ignored.
This is the Daily Mail, the day after the 1993 Budget

Sorry you’re being ‘dogpiled’ by the deluded. WASPI is indeed led by three extremely ‘well-to-do’ #50swomen. Here’s Angela Madden traveling to a protest….First class of course 😂 Cowley lives in a nice Farmhouse and De Spon in a six bedroom former rectory.
That’s a fair point Alison. I suspect the vast majority of low-paid women had no choice but to keep on working irrespective of when they became aware. Unfortunately I think WASPI has been hijacked by well-to-do women to the detriment of more deserving cases for compensation.

‘The £10.5bn cost of compensation for Waspi #50swomen women would wipe out the money raised by a 1p income tax rise, figures show’ Full restitution, based on a cost of £215bn would mean basic tax rates rising by 20p or a reduction in NHS funding by 50% telegraph.co.uk/money/pensio…

Replying to @DanNeidle
I don't know if Sikka sets out to mislead, because he likes clicks, or if he simply has no clue about accounting and tax. Either way, it's deeply embarrassing he's a member of the House of Lords.

Everything about this viral tweet is wrong. No: the government hasn’t raided the National Insurance Fund. No: the surplus can’t be used for anything you like, without loading our children with debt/taxes. Here’s why. 🧵
