Shoutout to the @OxAHPPreceptor programme for introducing me to the “Control, Influence, Accept” model as a framework to help thinking about/dealing with issues/problems- have already used it in and out of work since the session on Weds 🤩💃👏🏼 #mySLTday #AHP

“There’s a lot more that could and perhaps should be said to patients about, not just existing but actually living life with a condition” tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.… – very applicable to #SLT who can help people understand & reflect on their neurological condition, and find meaning

1.5 years on and I still update this sheet weekly (as it's where I bookmark all my resources and track them). Enjoy 😁
Been trying to collate all my resources that I use online in one place and thought I would share this in case anyone else finds it useful: Listed assessments, websites, CPD and lesson plans and teaching websites #WeSpeechies #SLPeeps docs.google.com/spreadsheets…

It is World Religion Day today! In dysphagia practice, we often focus on the impairment of swallow function and overlook how this would affect their participation in cultural activities- like how would one enjoy Chinese New Year when being on an L4 pureed diet?

My weekly visit to man with aphasia - we’re working on drawing to support his speech. Every week he prepares me a drawing from his favourite book. We discuss the details using written choices & supported conversation. @AphasiaDrawing (shared with permission)

Life as an NQP #SLT summed up nicely 🙃🙈 #mySLTday
“How’s it all going?” British answer: “Yeah, not bad. You?” Honest answer: “I don’t have a clue what I’m doing and constantly pretending otherwise leaves me exhausted. You?”
