Why do we use coffee bags fitted with one-way valve?
Roasted coffee beans continue to release carbon dioxide gas for days or weeks after roasting, a process known as degassing. If packed in a sealed bag without a valve, this buildup could cause the package to burst. A one-way valve allows the CO2 to escape while preventing oxygen, moisture, and contaminants from entering, which helps preserve the beans’ flavor, aroma, and freshness by minimizing oxidation and potential mold.
