NASA is spending $20 billion (Ā£15.5 billion) to build a permanent lunar base, habitats, nuclear power station, rovers, landing pads, the full infrastructure to actually live and work on the Moon. For about the same money, the UK could build roughly 50ā80 km of HS2 high-speed rail. That gets you from London partway to Milton Keynes⦠still less than a third of the way to Birmingham. Make it make sense! š¤
