Hi #GameAudio people We've published the results of the 2025 Game Audio Industry Survey. The survey covers game audio salaries, freelance rates, tools/tech, layoffs, education and other issues affecting working in game music and sound design. Some top line takeaways: - Freelance game music rates are up marginally over 2023 - It's not your imagination: Outsourcing game audio is a growing trend. - Game Audio Salaries (non-freelance) are up pretty significantly over even 2 years ago - Layoffs hit around 15% of game audio employees, affecting mid-career employees more than recent hires. - AI is just starting to work its way into game audio production flows Since 2014, we have regularly surveyed game composers and sound designers regarding issues such as contract terms, rates, PRO income, as well as tools/technology and education You can read the survey here: gamesoundcon.com/game-audio-…
