The first 6 weeks of this new @uklabour government just emboldens every sinue in my being of why I am @Conservatives and is a firm vindication of why I joined party over a decade ago now.

I have had a huge number of concerned parents message me from all over the country in regards to how their child's teacher has been talking negatively about Reform during the election campaign - many parents are incredibly upset. This is not about Reform - the principle must apply to all political parties. Teachers must NOT force their political opinions on the children they are supposedly educating. Whether it's about Reform, Tory, Green, Lib Dem or whoever else. I am sure that the vast, vast majority of teachers take that responsibility incredibly seriously. But it is clear that a small number have not. This cannot be tolerated. Teach children HOW to think, not WHAT to think.

This “grown ups back in charge” stuff is so cringeworthy. This government is made up of the same low grade characters as the Tories, just flying different colours. Ironically, or not, the fact people say such things makes them appear totally juvenile.

The greatest honour of my life to walk into @MoJGovUK as the Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice yesterday. Before politics, I was a lawyer. I understand the deep challenges facing our justice system. But there is so much we can do. The hard work starts now.
