GAMTEL Signs Contract with the National Assembly (NA) to Strengthen its Connectivity with High-Speed Fiber
The National Assembly of The Gambia has signed a three-year agreement with Gambia Telecommunications Company (GAMTEL) to deliver reliable, high-speed fiber internet services, reinforcing the institution’s digital capabilities.
Under this partnership, GAMTEL will provide a dedicated P2P fiber-leased line to deliver strong, stable, high-capacity internet connectivity across the Assembly. This advanced infrastructure will ensure seamless access to critical digital services and supports uninterrupted operations within the Assembly building.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Clerk of the National Assembly, Kalipha MM Mbye, highlighted the importance of the upgrade in enhancing parliamentary business. He noted that GAMTEL’s robust internet solution will significantly improve live broadcasting of sessions, digital research, and records management.
This initiative reflects the Assembly’s commitment to building a modern, digital Parliament. where ICT tools are leveraged to increase transparency and institutional efficiency. By securing a stable and high-speed connection, the Assembly aims to reduce reliance on manual processes and improve real-time communication between Members of Parliament, staff, and the general public.
Representing GAMTEL, Head of Marketing and Sales, Mr Mustapha Ceesay emphasized that the partnership demonstrates GAMTEL’s capacity to deliver strong, dependable internet solutions to key national institutions. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting digital transformation through secure and high-performance connectivity.
