One of our most chaotic annual Team Photos so I’ve posted a few options. Hopefully all those who attended day one of #footycon26 will see themselves here.

I’ll post more after a few days’ rest but it’s been a busy few days as one of the organisers of #footycon26 where I also did a presentation on Pickles. The new display in #Croydon I’ve helped research and write was put up a few days ago too. If you’re in Croydon look out for it.

But we finish day 1 with back to back panels and our first panel with Franzsika Blendin, @SaschaDueerkop, Adam Beaumont & Candice Whittell discussing the footballs forgotten heroines project looking at cases in Hawaii, Jamaica & Iceland. A global exploration of the beautiful game

2/2 The International Football History Conference is open to all football codes. Soccer tends to dominate but we welcome other forms of football so maybe submit your topic for next year’s conference? #Footycon26

1/2 I've not had chance to talk about this yet but a book I co-edited with @FionaSkillen & @HBee2015 on the history of women's football in Britain and Ireland. To gain international recognition at a major sports history conference in North America is some achievement. Thanks to-

Good work here. Modern day revisionism tends to forget how extraordinarily expensive some of these players were in their era. Buying success (and buying failure) has been around for a long time.
Who would be the most expensive player in Premier League history adjusting for football inflation (increase in total revenue for the PL per season)? It has to be the greatest goalscorer...the one and only @alanshearer at an inflation adjusted £223.3m when signing for Newcastle. He also appears at £100.2m when signing for Blackburn. @rioferdy5 appears twice in the top dozen signings
