In most discussions about gas analysis, the focus is on what the analyzer can measure. In fixed measurement systems, the more pressing question is often different: how does the analyzer fit into everything else running alongside it? When gas analysis is a permanent component of a broader setup, it runs on the system's terms: continuously, alongside other instruments, feeding results directly into process control or compliance reporting. That puts a specific demand on the analyzer to stay reliable when conditions are not. We wrote about what this looks like in practice across emissions monitoring, process gas analysis, and carbon capture, and why FTIR-based analysis suits this kind of setup particularly well.👉 hubs.li/Q04jk-gN0 #GT7000Tellus #KnowWhatsInTheAir #FTIR

Our APAC partner meeting is underway in Hong Kong, and it's a good one. Some of the partnerships in this room go back 25 years. That kind of continuity doesn't happen by accident; it takes shared commitment to the work and to the customers these partners serve across the APAC region. Alongside the familiar faces, we have a few new partners joining us this year, which makes for a useful mix of institutional knowledge and fresh perspective. Grateful for everyone who made the trip. #Gasmet #KnowWhatsInTheAir

Choosing the right background measurement can make or break the reliability of FTIR gas analysis. Ambient air is often convenient, but is it always the best option? Or does nitrogen provide a more controlled and reliable background? In this article, we break down how to choose the right background measurement based on real measurement conditions, not theory alone. ➡️ You’ll learn how factors like • gases already present in ambient air • moisture and temperature conditions • timing and on-site practicality affect measurement accuracy and guide the choice between ambient air and nitrogen. 🔗 Read the full article: hubs.li/Q04d8ZbR0 #FTIR #GasAnalysis #KnowWhatsInTheAir

At #EGU26, we’re not only showcasing instruments, we’re also contributing to the research around them. Our Environmental Application Specialist Ola Szymon presented a poster on “Impact of Chamber Transparency on Soil-Derived Greenhouse Gas Flux Measurements Using FTIR Spectroscopy”, exploring how chamber design can influence measured fluxes even under identical field conditions. The study was carried out using the GT5000 Terra, with a focus on real measurement setups rather than controlled assumptions. It’s a small example of something we see often: the setup around the measurement matters just as much as the analyzer itself. Authors Ola Szymon, Sami Ketonen & Sebastian Seiberlich are happy to continue the conversation at booth 55. #EGU2026 #SoilResearch #Gasmet European Geosciences Union (EGU)

Day 2 at #EGU26, and let's focus a while on the chamber setup we have: We’re at booth 55 with the GT5000 Terra and a full chamber setup running live demos throughout the week. If you're working with gas analysis or in the middle of evaluating your options, it's worth a visit, easier to have the conversation in front of the running instrument than on a spec sheet. If soil gas flux or field measurements are part of your work, come take a closer look at how the setup performs in practice. #EGU2026 #SoilResearch #Gasmet European Geosciences Union (EGU)

First day at EGU26 nearly wrapped. The conversations have been good, with a lot of honest talk about soil gas flux and field measurements, and the gap that tends to exist between what looks clean in the lab and what actually holds up in the field. If you're a Gasmet user (or dream to be), come find us, grab a photo with the team and "Framing the future of clean air" photo frame, and share what you're working on. To find us the rest of the week, look for the blue Gasmet balloon.
