Not going to put words in his mouth, but washing your hands of someone and “no longer loving them” are two completely different things. To all the @MAGA Trump supporters , applauding and gloating , after SCOTUS rulings this morning…and claiming a “Trump win”…..I want you to KEEP THAT SAME ENERGY going forward. There will be another Democratic President. Theres a good chance thats in the next 3.5 years in fact. Be sure you keep this EXACT SAME ENERGY and remember your “Activist judges” comments and “no Judge has the authority to overrule the executive” comments….even if those executive orders directly conflict with the constitution. This was not a “Trump win” but a TRUE , significant broadening of authority for the executive and reduction of authority for the courts, and does not simply apply to Donald Trump but ANY President which may come after him. You have no ground nor complaint to stand on, should say….oh , I dunno, another 2020 scenario and a pandemic level event take place and a Democratic POTUS choses to issue an executive shelter in place or masking order. No longer will that be challengeable on a nationwide level. No longer will you be able to run to judge kacsmaryk in Texas, because you disagree with an executive order. Its quite telling that the court choses to actually rule on the merits NOW…despite both Obama and Biden both RANTING over such powers of district courts and numerous petitions to SCOTUS for this guidance. Sure, weather and potential of weather may have played a small part in that, but weather DID NOT impact those across this country from getting out and voicing their disgust of the current Trump regime. Whether it was rain, storms or heat index of 105 in several areas, it did not deter. We do not protest to disrupt the public, nor to partake in violence or disrespect to those tasked with crowd control. The opportunists who do take advantage of such scenes to commit crime, assault, vandalize—we CATEGORICALLY REJECT you and your actions. They do NOTHING to benefit the cause and only distract and give ammo to those seeking to cast our constitutional RIGHT to protest as “riots” or “criminals” . Protest is not only a RIGHT, which our Govt has ZERO authority to suppress or take away, but it WORKS. No better example of how our voice pushes change, is the Trump admin now issuing orders to “stand down” to ICE and deportation raids at farms, agricultural centers/hubs, hospitality and service industry places of business. A place where people live in fear, not because they are persons partaking in criminal behavior rightful to be fearful of accountability , but fear simply because they chose America and the American dream . Fear that the lives they have spent decades building, communities they have spent decades enriching , will be ripped out from underneath them because in the eyes of the minority —-and primarily one man , they do not belong. Fear not simply of their lives being ripped out from underneath them, but their dignity and humanity stripped away. Fear of being kidnapped without accusation or charges, but simply because their skin is a shade too dark, their accent a bit too thick, or their name not “John Smith”. Fear that despite giving back to this country through years of hard work, or teaching, coaching, mentorship, and despite paying their taxes—including taxes towards programs they cannot utilize (undocumented immigrants pay 10s and 10s of BILLIONS ) and at the behest of ONE MAN….their family may be ripped apart. Fear that their child, receiving life saving treatments , available nowhere else, will be sentenced to death solely because of their name or skin color. Unfortunately the time has come where this is no longer about laws or fixing a broken system. This is not about “protecting Americans from crime” or dangerous people. This is not about murderers, rapists, drug dealers and gang members. What is taking place now, today, is about hatred, entitlement, greed, and power. This is not about ANYTHING other than hatred, power and control. This is now about one and one thing only—-Right vs Wrong. Thats not what America is, isn’t what America voted for, not what America and its people—the OVERWHELMING majority, want for this country and those who do think they long for such …most are simply too ignorant and brainwashed to understand what it is the are supporting.
