Get support if you care for someone
#CarersWeek2026!
@CarersUK
Carers Week is the ideal time to focus on the contribution made by carers, and how important they are in their local communities.
Sometimes carers can find it challenging to take care of their own wellbeing whilst looking after someone. The impact that caring can have on all aspects of life should not be underestimated.
💚Carers can find local support services through organisations like Carers UK and Carers Trust, which offer directories to locate nearby carer groups, replacement care services, and community resources tailored to individual needs.
💜Age UK provides practical support for older carers, including home help, handyperson services, and respite care, allowing carers to take breaks, while ensuring their loved ones are cared for.
✅Your local council may also be able to provide you and the person you care for with support or signpost you to support available within your area. You can find further information by searching for your local council on the
Gov.UK website.
Carers in Cumbria can find information on who to contact to get support on the Cumbria Safeguarding Adults Board website👉
