BEEF TARIFF CUT DELAYED, per White House Trump did not sign a planned suspension of tariff-rate quotas for beef. No explanation given, but came after pushback from ranchers and Capitol Hill R's Trump's team now "finalizing potential executive actions" on beef, per official.
SCOOP: Trump will suspend tariff-rate quotas on beef, lowering levies as part of larger affordability push today. Exec orders also lower protections for wolves, ease rules on cattle ear tags and aim to increase rancher access to capital. @PatThomas1318 and me

"merely symbolic" Neither side intends to blow up the trade truce. #USCHINA
“We know that these are merely symbolic investigations initiated by China, which is in fact the world’s most profligate disrupter of supply chains and trade in green products.  No one is fooled,” said Ambassador Greer.  “For the past year, China has disrupted global supply chains with unprecedented restrictions on basic commodity goods such as rare earth elements, fertilizers, and refined fuels. And when it comes to green products, China’s non-market excess capacity has flooded economies with electric vehicles and solar panels to the detriment of workers and manufacturing across the industrialized world.  Despite this posturing, the U.S. objective continues to be economic stability and balanced trade with China, in line with the U.S.-China deal reached last year in Busan, Korea.”

Pretty incredible distinction Colby is trying to draw here. The strikes that killed Iranian leadership are Israel's prerogative, and not a part of US military goals, which are to degrade Iranian missiles, drones, navy (despite the US assisting with the Israeli strikes)
Pentagon policy chief Elbridge Colby struggling to explain today why US struck Iran and how its aims are different from Israel Comes after Rubio said that US needed to act because Israel was about to strike Iran, which would have responded by attacking US forces.
