With Luminary, we take performance seriously I have completely remade our trees and grass, to not only look better, but perform better too. RTX 4090, Avg 80 fps running at 4K High Settings, with DLSS Balanced. Now our plants are fully animated with wind and player interaction.

Last month some long planned hardware upgrades were completed. Everything's faster now though the database still gets sluggish during peak hours, so more work's needed there. More storage was also planned but the astronomical prices of SSDs have put that on hold. There's empty bays waiting for their return. Over in the Xbox Vault all xiso files have been rebuilt using the xdvdfs library. This should fix errors in many games that extract-xiso couldn't process correctly. :) Hope everyone has a great week! vimm.net/

Video game journalists have always been mainly grifters. When I was at Microprose (1988-1993) gaming magazines were up front about it. They would literally phone us and ask for bribes for reviews. By the time I was at Ensemble Studios they were more circumspect. They'd say something like, "We plan to review Rise of Rome in November. Would you like to accompany it with a full-page ad?" Often with hints that failure to pay for the ad results in a worse review. We all need video reviews to know what to buy. Get them from people who grew out of fandom, and play the games. Like Sophia Narwitz, Josh Strife Hayes, Civvie11, GmanLives, or Matthewmatosis. Let the major review sites die as they deserve.

A group of modders is working on an ambitious new expansion for The Witcher 3 called The WAR Project, which aims to revive the game’s biggest cut storyline, the Catriona Plague questline. Based on datamined content discovered years ago, the mod is planned as a 10-hour expansion featuring 12 new quests. The project is supported by YouTuber and Witcher expert xLetalis, who has been documenting and assisting its development. The team is seeking someone to voice Geralt of Rivia, with auditions currently open for fans to become the White Wolf’s voice in the project. The mod will explore content removed before the game’s release, expanding on locations and characters that never made it into the final version. A playable demo is already available, with the full release expected in 2027.
