Not sure I can relate to why so many are worried that more remote work means being less “friends with your team” and “lost social time”. We don’t work together to become friends, it’s great when it happens and I’ve had no trouble having good relationships with remote folks

As a consultant, I'm seeing an epidemic: Companies are wasting millions by giving developers slow laptops.
Today I said "npm install x".
My laptop: 10 seconds. 😀
Their laptop: 3 minutes. 🤯🤦♂️
Why? Weak processors, little RAM, platter drives, and slow security scanners.

Getting coffee at my local coffee shop before heading into the office this morning the barista asked me if I was doing anything fun today, I said "working, getting ready for a presentation". She felt sorry for me, I told her not to as I actually love my job. I am lucky & know it!
