South Africa has declared its abstention from the adoption of the African Charter on Family, Sovereignty and Values at the 4th Inter-Parliamentary Conference in Accra.
The delegation says the Charter’s definition of marriage as solely between a man and a woman is inconsistent with its Constitution and international legal principles.
The position was announced by delegation head Zandile Majozi during deliberations.

The comments regarding the headmaster in Ghana sexually harassing the high school student are very worrying. Consent in this context cannot be given. Teacher student sexual relations are illegal in this country. Please let us not normalise this.
