#CumartesiAnneleri1107Hafta

Before-and-after images of the Roman ruins show that the Israeli strike blew off the top section of an ancient column - at a minimum. The entrance to the site was also completely shattered. As someone who has wandered countless times through these picturesque vestiges, it was deeply dystopian to see debris scattered across Tyre’s cherished archaeological site. I could not identify any military targets that would justify striking a UNESCO-protected area.
Reporting from the historic city of Tyre for @TheNationalNews. We saw clear damage at one of the archaeological sites, where wreckage was scattered among ancient Roman ruins and a column had been broken by an Israeli strike on Sunday. The attack targeted, and completely obliterated, a heritage house just a few metres away. The area is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, which legally protects landmarks or areas legally because of their “outstanding value to humanity.”

This is exactly how the Democrats - the party of genocide - are going to behave. If they get a majority, this attitude will worsen. They only rely on the fear of Trump to win, nothing else. Some of them may have some nicer words than ‘get her out’ but ultimately their party’s genocide is non-existent for them, it has to be because they are directly culpable. For the Democrats, the Palestinians will remain a pathetic tragedy and a rhetorical device when necessary - they might give in on AIPAC to an extent, but AIPAC isn’t the only pro-Israel lobby group or donor. No amount of progressives elected under the umbrella of the party will change what it is.
Really, Bernie? Two people just spoke out about US support for Israel during Senator Sanders' talk at the Press Club. Instead of saying, "I understand. your passion and we will get to that issue soon," Bernie said "Get her out of here."

Thank you Thomas Massie for recognizing the heroic members of the USS Liberty, which was attacked by Israel, where 34 crew members were killed and 174 were wounded. Why did our “greatest ally” attack us??
59 years ago today, Israel attacked the USS Liberty in international waters. 34 crew members were killed and 174 were wounded by the IDF. Today, I spoke on the House floor to honor the fallen and to recognize the survivors who were present in the gallery.

How “nice” to see Zelenskyy now expressing concern for Armenians. A gentle reminder: during 9-month blockade of Artsakh, his administration called it “pumped up,” & after Azerbaijan did ethnic cleansing in Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh, he was among first to congratulate Azerbaijan.
I congratulate Armenia on holding democratic and free elections, and @NikolPashinyan on his victory. This is also a victory for Armenia’s sovereignty, your independence, and your right to live the way you choose. We wish you success. Ukraine is ready to expand our cooperation, and now is precisely the time for the European Union to provide real support to Armenia and do everything necessary to ensure that people feel their lives are better thanks to their relationship with Europe. This is a test for the European Union. It is important not to lose time or miss opportunities.

The @LemkinInstitute is deeply concerned about the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia, which has once again come under threat from Azerbaijan and its allies, this time ahead of the Armenian parliamentary election on June 7, 2026. On May 10, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev implied that if Armenians were to elect a Prime Minister other than the incumbent Nikol Pashinyan, then Azerbaijan would invade Armenia, a threat he has made consistently since 2020. Prime Minister Pashinyan has been echoing this coercive electoral ultimatum as part of his campaign, portraying himself as the only alternative to war. We affirm that Armenia’s sovereignty is non-negotiable and appeasement may not be the best approach to protecting it. Whatever happens with Armenia’s election on June 7, the international community must apply a genocide prevention mechanism to economic and diplomatic relations in the South Caucasus. The Lemkin Institute urges the international community to finally take seriously the threats faced by Armenians in the South Caucasus. Azerbaijan committed genocide in 2023 and will not stop at that single instance of the crime. Similar to the outcome of the world’s passivity towards Israel, the impunity that has been granted to the current genocidal Azerbaijani regime by international actors, especially in the West but also including Russia and many states in the so-called Global South, is a major threat to peace and security in the South Caucasus region. The kidnapping and arbitrary detention of these four women, which should concern us all, has become a normal feature of Israel’s brutal occupation: the ability to enter any home, kidnap and imprison anyone anytime, because you can and because the media will not so much as report on it. If the nationalities of women and their captors were reversed it would be frontline news everywhere as it rightly should be! States claiming to care about women, to have a feminist foreign policy must walk the talk on Palestinian women and girls too!
These are the four college girls, including one American citizen, the IDF kidnapped in the middle of the night from their homes and threw into their torture dungeons. Jolan Abu Awwad, Natali Abu Dayya, Laila Nael Khalil, Sama Safi Israel has a policy called “administrative detention” that allows them to kidnap Palestinians and imprison them for 6 month increments without any charges whatsoever. These holdings can drag out for years. Over 3,000 Palestinians were being held on administrative detention in Israeli prisons on October 7. That’s why Hamas took all those Israelis back to Gaza. To exchange for their release. But do you see how that works? When Israel kidnaps people and holds them for months and years on end, they are simply “prisoners on administrative detention.” But when Hamas does it, they are “hostages.”
