The Alaska Gasline and LNG Project - Glenfarne Alaska LNG, LLC., Signs MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Alaska's Building Trades
“Let’s Build This Damn Line:” Laborers, Union Leaders, and AK LNG Project Leaders Gather to Sign Labor Memorandum This morning, June 11, Glenfarne Alaska LNG and Alaska’s Building Trades signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) regarding labor for the Alaska LNG gasline. According to Joey Merrick, President of the Alaska Petroleum Joint Crafts Council, the MOU ensures Alaskans will be prioritized for jobs created by the gasline project and that every Alaskan who wants to work on the project has an opportunity to do so. Laborers, union leaders, and project leaders gathered at the Alaska Laborers Training School to announce the signing of the memorandum. “Today is about opportunity. It is about Alaska workers. It is about Alaska’s future,” stated Merrick. He emphasized the 12,000 jobs that the project creates, which will be filled first by Alaskans with the remaining jobs filled by lower 48 laborers. Merrick commented: “This is what this agreement represents: partnership, accountability, and opportunity.” Adam Prestidge, President of Glenfarne Alaska LNG, gave a brief speech, stating that Glenfarne is “thrilled by the fortitude and commitment” of Alaskan laborers and leaders. Prestidge said, “today gives a resounding yes” to the question of whether the gasline can be built. Full story in reply! #AKLNG

Senate Finance Committee - June 8, 2026 The Alaska Gasline Project with Hilcorp, ConocoPhillips, and ExxonMobil SB 2001 - GAS PIPELINE VOLUMETRIC TAX; AGDC; RCA Presentation by Hilcorp, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil Link: ktoo.org/video/gavel/senate-… The Alaska Gas Line Project (also known as Alaska LNG) was created to monetize the vast, previously stranded natural gas reserves on Alaska's North Slope. It primarily exists to ensure domestic energy independence, provide affordable energy to Alaskans, and support global energy markets. OP FYI NOTE: The stranded gas is estimated to be approaching 40 Trillion Cubic Feet. The Prudhoe Bay UNIT currently produces, ~9 (BCFGPD)Billion Cubic Feet Gas Per Day. The gas is processed, NGLs are stripped out, and the gas is reinjected. This process has been ongoing since first production June 20, 1977. The result is the gas is stored, stranded. The Gasline will provide the State to now pipeline the gas for Intrastate use and the LNG Project. The Gasline is being designed to carry a maximum of 3.3 Billion Cubic Feet Per Day. Additional North Slope fields are discussed as well.

A busy screen but expand video for better view]] A very, very good and professional discussion about: In this Power Hour, we sit down with Max Easley of Pantheon Resources for a deep dive into the realities of production engineering and operations management. From sweating wells at Prudhoe Bay and pioneering deepwater subsea systems in the North Sea, to navigating the financial and operational complexities of major assets, Max shares hard-earned lessons from a 30-year career at BP and beyond. We explore why the production engineer is the true interface between the reservoir and the plant, the critical role of chemical and corrosion management, and how to balance advanced digital tools with boots-on-the-ground human judgment. We also discuss the current renaissance on Alaska's North Slope and what the future holds for the next generation of production professionals.

The Alaska Senate House Finance Committee - Obtaining updates on the Cost of the Gasline Project from Glenfarne and AGDC (Alaska Gasline Development Corp.) on cost transparency. Glenfarne has provided additional cost ranges in their new presentation. Link: akleg.gov/basis/get_document… In the slides; Cost is MM Dollars, so $13,200 is 13.2 Billion Dollars. OP NOTES: In slide # 16 they show Great Bear Pantheon as a "Producer." They are not yet producing any oil or gas - none - and have zero Proved Producing Reserves. They are still exploring and have only published Contingent Resources. They have not published a development plan. The four companies mentioned have all signed Gas Sales President Agreements. But again, Great Bear Pantheon has not proved they can produce from a Proven Reserve Basis. The original intent of the Gasline is to access the Stranded Gas on the North Slope. Prudhoe Bay and Point Thomson have Proved Producing Reserves of 25-35 Trillion Cubic Feet of Gas. In slide #17, they indicate Great Bear Pantheon and 88 Energy as having New Gas Discoveries.

Amazing post on the energy equivalent of LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) which is just Methane. CH4.
New Glenn sat on the pad with the latent energy of a Hiroshima-class atomic bomb. But because it is a chemical rocket, that energy was released as a roaring, pad-melting inferno rather than a supersonic nuclear shockwave. Because a methane-oxygen rocket explosion is so rich in thermal energy, the visual appearance of the fireball, its roiling, incandescent, and massive scale, genuinely mimics the early, fiery "fireball" stage of the 1945 Trinity nuclear test or low-yield tactical nukes, right before those weapons form a classic mushroom cloud. The Energy Math: Rocket Fuel vs. Nukes The first stage of Blue Origin's New Glenn is a massive booster powered by liquid methane (LNG) and liquid oxygen (LOX).  • The Fuel Mass: A fully fueled New Glenn booster holds roughly 1,000 metric tons (1 million kg) of liquid methane.  • The Chemical Energy: Methane has a high energy density. Burning 1,000 tons of methane releases roughly 55 \times 10^{12} \text{ joules} of thermal energy.  • The TNT/Nuclear Equivalent: In terms of pure potential energy, that is equivalent to roughly 13 kilotons of TNT. For context, the Little Boy atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima had a yield of about 15 kilotons of TNT. Therefore, if every single molecule of New Glenn's methane perfectly mixed and detonated at once, it would mathematically equal the energy release of a tactical nuclear weapon.

The Alaska Gasline and LNG Project
Fulford Stresses Need for Property Tax Abatement for AK LNG Project Progress By Natalie Spaulding The House Finance Committee met May 26, 2026, to discuss HB 381 version T, a bill to restructure tax burdens for the Alaska LNG project. Senior Director of GaffneyCline Nicholas Fulford presented economic models and argued for a property tax abatement of at least ten years. Fulford has worked in the industry for 40 years and has worked on multiple LNG projects worldwide. Fulford emphasized the critical need for tax burden reduction during the first ten years for the project to appeal to investors. “The first 10 years is far more important than what you do after those ten years,” stated Fulford. When Representative Alyse Galvin (NA-Anchorage) questioned Fulford on the necessity of the 10 year abatement, Fulford replied, “The project will need 6-8 years to catch its breath” after major upfront costs.
