The Single European Act, 40 years ago, to get the most important 🇪🇺 EU accomplishment, the Single Market of ‘92. Unfortunately incomplete because of vetos and nationalisms. In too many sectors we are 27, not 1. And we are weaker than 🇺🇸🇨🇳🇮🇳. One Europe, One Market is the mission.
🗓️ 40 years ago this month, the Single European Act was signed — a key step towards today’s single market.
It gave the European Council a legal basis for the first time and strengthened decision-making in the Council of the EU.
