The procession for Caldwell County Deputy Constable Aaron Armstrong, who passed away in the line of duty on Jan 4th, will travel through Georgetown today. It's expected to affect northbound traffic through Belton. Please anticipate delays between approximately 1:15 and 2 p.m.

We are currently responding to a traffic accident on IH-35 Southbound at Williams Dr. The incident involves a semi-truck and a car that has rolled over. IH-35 is shut down, and traffic is being diverted to the frontage road. Please avoid the area & seek alternate routes.

An 18 wheeler struck the Highway 29 overpass. Southbound lanes on IH -35 as well as the Highway 29 overpass have been shut down as crews work the scene. Please avoid the area and find alternate routes.

7:36AM update: Highway 29, eastbound and westbound, are reopen, but down to one lane over the bridge. We still recommend finding alternate routes, if possible, due to heavy traffic. Southbound IH-35 is open.

8:49am: Traffic on southbound IH-35 is currently shutdown following a serious incident involving a semi-truck that has become fully engulfed in flames. Traffic is being redirected to Leander Rd. Motorists are strongly advised to seek alternate routes and avoid the area.

11AM update: Austin Avenue bridges have been closed to through traffic and pedestrian traffic until further notice. This closure is due to concerns about the number of people stopping on the bridges and the possibility of debris hitting the bridges.

10:25AM update: Georgetown Animal Shelter, VFW Post, Masonic Lodge, Holly Street Village, and San Gabriel Crisis Center are being evacuated. All shelter animals are being moved to the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter. Avoid the area if possible.
