BREAKING: The first 300 Ridglan beagles touched grass for the first time today. They stepped outside and looked up at the sun. Many are playful. Some are scared. All are learning the world can be safe. Today, they are free.

I loved seeing @lsqualls in her element. I've always known what a true servant and transformational leader she is, but hearing from her people just how great she is makes me so proud to have her in my network and life.
We were incredibly honored to welcome an award-winning guest speaker @Gerace96 to our Aspiring Principals Program this week! Your wisdom, authenticity, and vision for leadership left a lasting impact. HR is leadership! #experienceRCISD

The largest study on human happiness revealed something that blew me away. After 80 years of data, the #1 predictor of your health, wealth, and happiness isn’t what you think.

Peace be with you all! This is the first greeting spoken by the Risen Christ, the Good Shepherd. I would like this greeting of peace to resound in your hearts, in your families, and among all people, wherever they may be, in every nation and throughout the world.

It is with great sadness that Jill and I learned of the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis. HeĀ was unlike any who came before him. Pope FrancisĀ will be remembered as one of the most consequential leaders of our time and I am better for having known him. For decades, he served the most vulnerable across Argentina and his mission of serving the poor never ceased. As Pope, he was a loving pastor and challenging teacher who reached out to different faiths.Ā He commandedĀ us to fight for peace and protect our planet from a climate crisis. He advocated for the voiceless and powerless.Ā He made all feel welcome and seen by the Church.Ā He promoted equity and an end to poverty and suffering across the globe. And above all, he was a Pope for everyone. He was the People's Pope - a light of faith, hope, and love.

Pope Francis was the rare leader who made us want to be better people. In his humility and his gestures at once simple and profound – embracing the sick, ministering to the homeless, washing the feet of young prisoners – he shook us out of our complacency and reminded us that we are all bound by moral obligations to God and one another. Today, Michelle and I mourn with everyone around the world – Catholic and non-Catholic alike – who drew strength and inspiration from the Pope’s example. May we continue to heed his call to ā€œnever remain on the sidelines of this march of living hope.ā€

What I hate most about the Luka trade is who made it. Nico Harrison hasn’t earned enough equity with Mavs fans to trade Luka. Nico wasn’t around for Reunion Arena. Nico wasn’t around during the 3 yr playoff drought. Nico hasn’t earned the right to risk. x.com/TheFacilityFS1/status/…

This is a BIG win for teachers, police officers, firefighters who receive pensions from work in federal, state, local gov’t but couldn’t access their own social security funds. This is great news for many of our retired, current and future teachers! šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰ apnews.com/article/social-se…

This is a huge moment that we have worked decades for. We are one step closer to repealing GPO and WEP, which deny retired educators and other civil servants their hard-earned Social Security. Now, the Senate must act. #SocialSecurityFairnessAct

How do we help kids intentionally create a pathway toward success for themselves? I have been thinking about this a lot lately, especially in how we view technology usage in school with the increased focus on utilizing AI in our world today. Speaking with families on this for years, there are two areas that I always try to emphasize in these conversations. How do we keep kids safe? How do we help students leverage opportunities in our world for them to be successful? On the first one, I think it is essential that we help students to navigate technology in a safe way. We wouldn’t take kids on a field trip and hope for the best when they cross the road. We teach them the skills to cross safely because we know if they are able to do that, there are opportunities on the other side. Regarding the second point, there are many opportunities today that didn’t exist when I was in school. Those opportunities will only grow in the future. I want to teach my own kids to leverage the potential of today and tomorrow, and that is my hope for all learners. I unintentionally opened doors for myself that I had no idea existed. My goal is to help others intentionally open those doors for themselves.
