I am an indigenous activist from N. Uganda. This is my farm, my crops have failed due to stunted growth bcoz of too much rain.
We are suffering because of the climate crisis and yet my community won't be represented @COP26#COP26@AlexandriaV2005 @vanessa_vash @NaomiAKlein
If elephants, Buffalos, Rhinos and others are protected by use of arms in Uganda, why isn't Shea trees given the same protection?
Shea trees are being cut down wantonly for charcoal despite its highly valued nuts and products from the nuts.
SAVE THE SHEA NUT FOUNDATION does this through organizing community dialogues, raising Shea seedlings, organizing the Shea nut gathering women in to groups to make their business stronger
The charcoal business is not a sustainable one. It's a business that leads to extinction of a species. A species that has the power to transform lives; especially those of the rural women and their families.
Join hands with SAVE THE SHEA NUT FOUNDATION .
If you knew South Africa, the rainbow 🌈 Nation because of Nelson Madiba Mandela, Lucky Dune, then you are another popular item.
There was this popular beer called the Amarula beer made from Amarula tree whose fruits look like the Shea nut fruits.
Shea trees are vital for women in West Africa, providing income through shea butter production. But widespread deforestation for charcoal is destroying these trees.
In Uganda, @GerimaMustafa is fighting back—training women, planting trees, and saving a legacy.

Join me and Mama in wishing LULU a happy birthday day.
Her name LULU was got from South Sudan as they call the shea trees as LULU.
In Arabic, LULU also refers to pearl, something very precious. And this is exactly what the Shea trees are to the women in Africa. The trees are actually called the jewels and the women's gold.
