Replit Agent is the most transformational product I’ve ever used. If you are someone with ideas to build, you should sign up for an account and create something with it this week.

Earlier this month, we crossed $100M in ARR, up from $10M at the end of ’24. But that’s just fraction of the value we’re creating: from enterprise teams like @zillow and @HubSpot shipping faster, to solo builders like @yoheinakajima and @GerrardL_ building and running their businesses on Replit. We still have over half our funding in the bank. Our last round was in ‘23 at a $1.1B valuation, and we haven’t needed to raise since. We’re growing the team, and now’s a great time to join. The upside ahead is massive.

The limiting factor for creating more entrepreneurs is probably just risk appetite. Reduce the perceived (relative) risk and you’ll get more people starting businesses.

It’s a skill to really listen to what users are telling you, especially when you believe you already have the answer.

Genius. We will probably see this natively in more agentic apps soon, rather than asking the user to install separately. Gives a viable route for subsidizing user tokens. And then, of course, there will be an ad network to campaign across all agentic apps selling ad space. Incredible.
Get paid to wait The Claude Code spinner might be the most watched line on Earth. So I turned it into an ad marketplace. Advertisers bid on it. You keep 50% of the money. Install the extension → get cash from ads. Introducing Kickbacks

You need to be engineering biological replicators that develop into better versions of yourself, with nobler intentions, to then write the loops that will finally make you fulfilled.
if you’re still writing loops that prompt coding agents you’re falling behind. you need to build a meta agent that infers what loops you would have wanted based on your vibe and then write those loops

Just because we cannot imagine 100x more software doesn’t mean there isn’t room for it.

AI is a bubble like computers are a bubble.

It really doesn’t matter how much soul and how many hours you pour into it. If you’re building something new, you only find out if it’s a hobby or a product when you launch to real users.

I would bet good money that @Anthropic and @OpenAI both release some sort of design/code AI canvas feature this year. And they would be right to do so.

Wrappers work because AI is a sufficiently novel, powerful and broad technology that when you showcase just one specific use case, in a dedicated context/UI, it still feels like magic.

How to build in the age of AI abundance, according to Hemingway: ‘All you have to do is write one true sentence. Write the truest sentence that you know.’
Make stuff because you want it, not because the algorithm wants it.

Agent Canvas ( a reason for your product to exist) is all you need.

Roles that create new knowledge / data becoming prestigious again?
Big personal news: I’ve been recruited by Google DeepMind for a new Philosopher position (actual title), focusing on machine consciousness, human-AI relationships, and AGI readiness, starting in May. I’ll continue my research & teaching at Cambridge part-time. Absolutely stoked!

I am rooting for the hyper long-tail version of AI disruption, where we get a whole lot more of this.
the function of your professional life is to find the most natural structure that allows you to turn the things you do as naturally as breathing or walking into compounding capital and joy over decades this, necessarily, requires rotating quickly out of things that aren't it

I've said it before, I'll say it again: infinite canvas is the ideal UI for gen AI. @Replit Agent 4 is a perfect example of this.
Canvas is the natural UX/UI for AI image/design/visual stuff. Room for variations. Can be cluttered but comforting to see all your stuff in one place. I think canvas wins for now.

This version of Replit is what it feels like when you connect the dots in just the right way. Incredible unlock. Canvas Agents Context all in one place. Everything is Computer. Congrats to the team, delightful execution on a ridiculously ambitious vision. You can probably stop now though… the thought of Agent v5 scares me.
Software isn’t merely technical work anymore. It’s creative. Introducing Replit Agent 4. The first AI built for creative collaboration between humans and agents. Design on an infinite canvas, work with your team, run parallel agents, and ship working apps, sites, slides & more.

Niches within niches

Software will proliferate just as videos, music, writing did. The market structure will shift from a “fat middle” to mega-aggregators and a long tail. It’ll be a slower process due to network effects, but many traditional vendor lock-ins will get eaten by AI.

We build for the agents now.
Bullish on tools that build for existing agents as the platform, instead of wrapping everything up into yet another app I have to visit and use.
