I am devastated to share the news that on Wednesday February 3 our dad Michael Guy died. He passed away at Southport hospital with Mum, his sister Val, daughter Kathryn and myself at his side. 1/

Absolutely love the World Cup but Trump and America is determined to ruin it. Iraqi striker detained for 7 hours. Africa's No.1 referee sent home for being Somali - race Trump has described as 'garbage'. Hideous stuff and it has yet to begin.

Andy Burnham's speech: * He says he will 'respect' the result of the Brexit referendum and is not proposing rejoining the EU. He says the focus needs to be on domestic issues rather than 'another divisive debate about a relationship with other countries' * He says Labour has failed voters in the north. This is his strongest criticism of Starmer. 'I know what my party has offered in the past has simply not good enough. The loss of faith of voters across The North - so many of whom once saw us as their natural party - is our fault and nobody else's * This is the bit where his pitch blurs into his pitch for PM: 'If I get to stand a vote for me will be a vote to change Labour. Because Labour needs to change if we're to regain people's trust. There will be a vote to make life more affordable. A vote to power up places. A vote to reindustrialise' * He accuses Nigel Farage and Reform UK of being 'cheerleaders for the Thatcherite policies that laid us low in the first place'. 'Will they now disown them, apologise for them?' * He says he wants 'maximum devolution of power and resources' from national to local government. He doesn't spell up what that is but the inference is devolved tax raising powers * He says that public servants should work in the local and combined authoroities that they serve, not for 'unaccountable national agencies' * Much of his speech was devoted to cricitising Whitehall and Westminster. 'We really need to use this moment to tell some home truths to people in Whitehall. It really can't go on like this' * He says that the deindustrialisation of the North in the 1980s was 'devastating' for local communities. 'The draining away of economic, social and political power from these places. Left to drift. That's what happened.' * He says that deindustrialisation was then 'compounded by deregulation, privatisation in the 90s and austerity in the 2010s'. 'It all adds up to 40 years of neo-liberalism that have not been kind to the north of England. 40 years of trickle down economics that did not in the end trickle down very much at all' * That system has syphoned wealth out of those places and into the hands of people for whom life was already very good. It created an economy that didn't work for most working people. It led to the loss of good jobs, the decline of our high streets and the neglect of our towns. It led to people paying over the odds for the daily basics - energy housing water transport.

Reality check. No #Everton win since March. Awful. Big summer ahead.

Sooner football goes back to just referee and linesman the better. VAR is now being analysed more than refereeing ever was. Human error at every level proves it's a waste of time. Fans don't like it, players don't like it, managers don't like it. Purely serving TV companies.

This game is absolutely wild. So made up for Thierno Barry and Jake O'Brien. Unbelievable character by the #Everton players.

Looking forward to seeing plenty of friends and familiar faces at @SoundCity this weekend. Westside Cowboy, Gurriers, Adult Leisure, PISS, Yee Loi and Jalen Ngonda among the artists I'm aiming to catch. Here's a playlist of tips πŸ‘‰ open.spotify.com/playlist/5N…

One of my favourite pieces of Prince kit is his Auerswald Model C guitar built by luthier Jerry Auerswald. Prince used it on the Lovesexy, Batman and Graffiti Bridge albums. Here he is performing Purple Rain with it on the the Nude Tour in Tokyo. πŸŽΈπŸ’œ

Music brings me more joy than anything else in life. And when I think of music, I think of Prince. Hard to believe it's ten years since we lost him; so surreal. I feel so privileged to have had my life enriched by his talent. Big love Prince, nothing compares. πŸ’œ #Prince4Ever

Completely agree, Mark. Personally, think he's shown flashes of really good stuff - but with Grealish out and him not getting a look in, it's not a good sign. For all the positives that Moyes has brought, he hasn't exactly developed many of the youngsters at the club.

I've never seen a player who needs to be loaned out as much as Dibling. Obviously we can't write him off after what we paid for him, but he won't develop being at Everton right now

I agree. Barry is getting absolutely lambasted tonight - rightly so after that performance - but he was playing okay for a few games until Moyes pulled the rug. George maybe a player too but Moyes doesn't play youngsters. Dibling has been completely mismanaged.

They've hardly been given a proper chance though. Manager persists with his trusted favourites. I'm not saying either that any of the bench should be starting but surely they can add something late on in games. It's the same subs! Players today were knackered

Not one of them have proved anything this season, Gareth. At the same time, the manager and coaching staff doesn't inspire confidence either.

Bench horrendous? Haven't seen enough of them. All could have been used to bring fresh legs on..

Completely agree with Kev. Truly horrendous scouting. Still feel Dibling is a player - just needs coaching. But Everton need to hit this summer.

There needs to be some accountability for last summer's dismal transfer dealings. Aznou, Barry, Dibling, Rohl all a scandalous waste of money.

#Everton are miles away from being a good side. People are getting way too carried away with this side this season. Tenth is about right. Coming to something when you're saying we missed Beto when he came off. That bench is horrendous.

Seen that script so many times. Everton aren't mentally equipped to compete with those sides. Soft.
Until #Everton stop playing the occasion rather than the game they'll always be prone to losing the Derby. They've bossed it again yet find themselves behind as they were thinking about the disallowed goal. Can't be stressed enough what a crock of shite the referee is though.
