BREAKING NEWS: A large wildfire is burning along Friant road northeast of Fresno near the Lost Lake area. Authorities say so far the fire has burned about 200 acres of dry brush. @ABC30
UPDATE: Vulcan Fire is now 20% contained. Not structures damaged. I can see several smoldering hot spots. Crews say triple digit heat and winds created several challenges. Cause still under investigation. Friant will remain closed for several more hours. @ABC30
UPDATE: Here’s a look at the back end of the fire. Officials with Neighborhood Industries confirm their distribution center was destroyed in the fire. At the moment 63 of the 81 Fresno firefighters on duty are at this fire. @ABC30
BREAKING NEWS: Fire crews are currently working on a heavy fire at an industrial building near Thorne & Napa. We’ve heard several explosions. A huge plume of smoke is being sent up into the air. @ABC30
UPDATE: Firefighters say the fire started in the rear of this building. Authorities believe hazardous materials were inside and burned up in the fire. 50 firefighters are currently on scene battling flames. At the moment 3 quarters of the cities resources are on scene. @ABC30
HAPPENING NOW: Fresno police detectives continue to investigate the death of a 3-year-old boy in central Fresno. Authorities say the toddler got hold of a gun inside his home and accidentally shot himself. The latest coming up at 6 on @ABC30
BREAKING NEWS: An investigation is underway at the Island Water Park after police say a man drowned. Officers say the victim is in his 30s or 40s. The general manager says it happened in the wave pool and lifeguards administered CPR after pulling him out of the water. @ABC30
BREAKING NEWS: Fresno police officers say two people were shot at a Central Fresno apartment complex. Neighbors say they heard several rounds being shot. @ABC30
UPDATE: authorities say the victims are 15-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man. Both are expected to survive. Officers say about 18 rounds were fired. This all took place at the Fountain West Apartments on Fountain Way & Pleasant Ave.
