I have called an emergency meeting of the Committee for Communities today to urgently discuss the racist riots & and their impact on vulnerable communities. I invited Minister Lyons to set out actions he is taking to protect victims. He has declined the invite.

Workers deserve to keep 100% of the tips they earn. Yet the DUP is blocking the Good Jobs Bill which would guarantee that. It’s time for Emma Little Pengelly to stop blocking this bill and denying support to workers.

We were delighted to hold our weekly meeting at @OFiaichLibrary where we heard about the work of our hosts, Armagh U3A, Mellon Centre for Migration Studies and @ArmRLib. Before the meeting, Members took a tour of the Library and Archive to see some items from the collections.

I am greatly concerned that any further delay in progressing the Good Jobs Bill will delay paid neonatal care leave coming into effect. I hope that we can urgently get Executive agreement to the draft Bill getting into the Assembly so that this important support can be put in place for parents whose babies need neonatal care.

“We are the largest party of the working class. I don’t need anyone to define my politics. I’m an Irish republican. I come from a working class constituency. I’m a United Irelander. I believe in fairness, I believe in justice and I have an ambition for this country. What I want is a government without Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael… and I’m prepared to work to make it a reality” @davidcullinane

Very sorry to hear about the fire at @Ballinamallard clubhouse. The clubhouse is at the heart of the club and the wider community, so this will be a huge blow for everyone involved. My thoughts are with volunteers, supporters and all those connected to the club. A sincere thank you to the fire service for their swift response and professionalism. Ballinamallard United is a strong club with a strong community behind it, and I know it will come through this difficult time.
Unfortunately there was a significant fire in the BUFC clubhouse this afternoon which has caused significant damage & it will remain closed for the foreseeable future. 5 engines from @NIFRSOFFICIAL were in attendance & we are indebted for their assistance.

It was fantastic to attend the launch of Fermanagh GAA’s ambitious new 2026-2030 strategic plan in Enniskillen last night. The £7 million state-of-the-art development planned at Ashwoods will be a huge boost for sport, health and wellbeing across the county. The GAA plays a vital role at the heart of our communities, creating opportunity, pride and belonging for people of all ages. I want to commend everyone involved in driving this exciting vision forward and I look forward to supporting the delivery of this fantastic project.
