🚀 Exciting times are ahead in the world of satellite testing! 🛰️
Don't miss out on a mind-blowing sneak peek into @RAL_Space_STFC's National Satellite Test Facility (NSTF) with Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock. 👀🤯

ALT BBC Sky at Night presenter, Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock gets an in-depth tour from Sean Stewart. Image: STFC
Our first 'in-depth' set of @STFC_Matters features is on gravitational waves. It's packed with gravitational goodness and massive infographics – find the GW triptych on the front page medium.com/big-science-at-st… ... oh, and please follow!
We'll be populating the channel with in-depth @STFC_Matters features, fun videos, great infographics... basically we'll be bringing some fun back to science stories. Please join us on our journey by following here medium.com/big-science-at-st…
I'm trying to build a fun channel for @STFC_Matters science stories on @Medium. It's very much in a 'beta' phase, but those of you who remember MetroCosm will definitely find stuff you like there! Please give us a look and follow! medium.com/big-science-at-st…
Tomorrow marks #InternationalLEGODay, something we think works particularly well with #ParticlePhysics. 😉
Here we can see a lovely normal Helium atom, but with a bit of effort... yup there we go, we now have a @LEGO_Group Helium atom. ⚛
Now lets take a closer look... 🔬
1/8
ALT Here is a cartoon panel, the background is green LEGO baseplate. In the top left it is written 'According to the Standard Model of particle physics, atoms are made of particles, which, in turn, are made of elementary particles.' To the right of this text is a cartoon impression of a helium atom, with an arrow pointing to it saying A not-Lego particle. As you go down the comic under the atom is a cloud saying 'POOF!' with stars and lines coming out. Under the cloud is the helium atom represented in LEGO. To the right of all this is a LEGO character in a STFC lab coat saying 'To celebrate International Lego Day, let's transform these particles into some building blocks we are a little more familiar with... Lego!'
@PastdueCredit You have contacted me regarding an account with SSE energy, which you claim is owed by myself.
I would point out that I have no knowledge of any such debt being owed to SSE plc whilst at the claimed supply address or otherwise.
Since the receipt of your first letter, I have emailed you multiple times – two to your ‘complaints’ email address; one to your ‘info’ email; one to you ‘onlinehelp’ address, and one to your ‘help’ (most of which I note have been closed and the emails just bounce back).
If you continue to contact me, I will have no option but to make a complaint to trading standards & consider informing the FCA.
If appropriate I will also take this matter forward as a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service and Information Commissioner’s Office.
#COVID-19 has required creating 2251 new ICU beds across the UK.
But the number of trained ICU staff hasn't risen to match.
Read our Recovery & Restitution statement about getting back to normal in a way that protects both patients & staff ▶️ bit.ly/Rec_ResICU
I put together this infographic for @ICS_updates to help them to communicate the pressures facing ICU staff in the UK. Sobering stuff... #COVID19#NHSheroes
Stay at home, unless you can’t. If you can’t stay at home be aware. If you are aware, sit in the park... unless you aren’t aware enough and it’ll be your fault that we call get sick.... and, oh yes... R... less than one R is better than more than one... and... and... armadillos?
The cynic in me didn’t expect it to happen, but it did - cheering, whooping, clapping and banging of pots and pans. A truly heartwarming show of appreciation for the NHS and everyone else battling away in the face of this viral shit show.
It's been the better part of 20 years since I last picked up any sort of physical, analogue art-creating device. In the last couple of days, I have rediscovered just how therapeutic it can be to just draw something for the sake of it!
