"Either you care about protecting kids or you don't. We have children in Michigan living through their second school shooting in a year and a half.” Thank you @RepSlotkin for having the courage to call it like it is. We must do more.

Medicine is a beautiful profession. Our system obfuscates that. I'm lucky I get to see its beauty more clearly at a safety net hospital, where billing comes second. Thanks @NPR for letting me talk about this and the patients that have stuck with me

Many of Dr. Ricardo Nuila's patients at this safety-net hospital are dealing with serious illnesses as a result of not having access to basic preventive care. His new book is called 'The People's Hospital.' trib.al/rGQXpYv

In a new book, says our reviewer, Dr. Ricardo Nuila studies Houston’s publicly funded Ben Taub hospital, “where health care is explicitly considered a human right — where anyone can walk through the doors and receive care, regardless of ability to pay.” nyti.ms/3yKOUWq

"I like that I have the time to be able to hear my patients' stories, that I don't have to think about billing all the time," @riconuila says. He works at a safety-net hospital in Houston. npr.org/sections/health-shot…

I live for conversations, truly. This one hit home in so many ways. Can't tell you how fortunate I feel to have conversed with Terry Gross on @nprfreshair about the hospital I love, the patients that have stuck with me, and how to make healthcare in this country better

When it came out in 1983, Nora Ephron's comic novel became an instant bestseller. Now newly released, 'Heartburn' pairs well with Jenny Jackson's smart comedy of manners, 'Pineapple Street.' @MaureenCorrigan reflects on 40 years of 'Heartburn.' n.pr/3JM6uzE

Kevin McCarthy has not seen the evidence. Marjorie Taylor Greene has not seen the evidence. No Republican in Congress has seen the evidence. A grand jury composed of normal everyday citizens HAS seen the evidence and will make their determination based on that.

I feel like it’s important for everyone’s sanity to hang on to the fact that nothing happened today. Trump was neither indicted nor arrested, nor did he reveal any credible info that he would be. He just posted a provocation on his social media platform and watched everyone jump.
Replying to @maggieNYT
The silence from Ron DeSantis today has been noted in Trump-world
