I held a Staff meeting. Importantly, we analyzed in great detail the state of implementation of the decisions our warriors on the frontline had spoken about. In the second half of last year, decisions were introduced that ultimately led to a significant strengthening of our frontline positions. First – direct funding for combat brigades to purchase what they need, primarily drones. Second – a fairer distribution of personnel to reinforce combat brigades. Third – expanding the ability of our brigades to conduct basic general military training. Direct funding has boosted the real combat capabilities of the brigades. As for personnel, around 160 military units are already receiving stable, guaranteed reinforcements, and this makes it possible to defend positions with greater confidence. The number of military units granted the right to conduct basic general military training has also doubled. I instructed that possible additional steps be worked through for each of these points – how else we can support the brigades. Separately, we also discussed the supply of long-range 155 mm shells – an issue the guys have often raised. I instructed that more opportunities be developed for the financing, production, and supply of such shells, and for supporting our artillery capabilities overall, which remain essential for achieving combat results. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is also working on supplying pickup trucks to the troops – the decisions are already being implemented. Today, there was also a report by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on the situation in the key sectors. Ukrainian positions are strong, and this is a result our state very much needs – one that will certainly support all diplomatic steps. We also devoted considerable attention to air defense today, which is perfectly understandable, as it is a key priority for protecting our cities and communities. I expect much more activity from our diplomats to strengthen air defense and ensure the supply of the necessary missiles. I also instructed the Ministry of Defense to intensify all available formats with partners for the supply of anti-ballistic capabilities. We must find what Ukraine needs. Glory to Ukraine!

I’ve been asked to try and help a Ukrainian foundation initiative that supports the children of Ukraine’s heroic fallen defenders - a cause which obviously needs no explanation of its vital importance. Called I.C.F ( international charity foundation) “ Friends of Ukraine Foundation” and their specific project - Choven Kids / Children. Just Imagine after a family loses the husband / father, or Mother, not only the terrible loss initially, but how the children and family cope and try to live, day to day, as UA Government help after a loss takes time. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of life for children who have experienced the impact of war, either through loss of serving parents or loss of their homes due to attacks on civilian infrastructure by Russia. Along with supporting the AFU with your fantastic ongoing support as I’ve always done, I have been asked to help fundraise / push visibility and reach if possible, by a contact in the UA Gov who supports this initiative. So in time, I’ve decided I’m going to try to do my bit to help support them and this worthy cause going forward. We have already helped them in a small way already - a few of the concentrators were given to the charity who also support the AFU. 👊 Friends of Ukraine Foundation are not on X presently, but I’ve indicated they need to be, as it’s where the kind hearted souls of the world make the magic happen, so I’ve been told that they are going to set up an account here shortly. We are grateful to every volunteer who has stepped up to defend Ukraine, and we value them deeply, so we must remove all bureaucratic and logistical obstacles in this important effort. Today, I held a meeting with members of parliament and military colleagues. The topic is strategic – reforming the system for engaging foreign nationals and stateless persons in military service under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard. The decision has been long overdue, and my colleagues agreed that the country needs a single recruitment center for foreign nationals. This body will ensure a full support cycle: from selection and logistics to professional training, communication, and support during service. As a result of the meeting, we agreed: by the end of May, to develop a mechanism for establishing the relevant unit within the Ministry of Defense, to prepare a comprehensive recruitment program, and to draft the necessary legislative changes.
