In the original novella 「The Luminous Fairies and Mothra」, Mothra builds her cocoon on the National Diet Building. The film adaptation moves this scene to the Tokyo Tower. Over three decades later, the film 「Godzilla vs. Mothra」 featured Mothra cocooning on the Diet Building.

Though the Heisei design is used for Mechagodzilla in 「Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee」, its portrayal more closely aligns with the Showa version. It is depicted as the Vortaak aliens' ultimate weapon, and attacks prominently with laser vision and finger missiles. (1/3)

This is reflected in Mechagodzilla's bio on the game's promotional website, which states that the machine was built by the Black Hole Planet 3 Aliens out of Space Titanium like the Showa version, but lists the Heisei version's weapons and stats. (2/3)

The Xbox version of the game went on to give it the name "Mechagodzilla 2," otherwise used to refer to the rebuilt Showa Mechagodzilla, to distinguish it from the added Millennium version. The Showa Mechagodzilla 2's inclusion in the remaster brings this all full circle. (3/3).

Destoroyah's base form, the Micro Form, is never actually shown onscreen in 「Godzilla vs. Destoroyah」, though official artwork of its design appears in reference books. The smallest form shown in the film is the Crawl Form, which is considerably larger than the Micro Form.

In the 2025 IDW comic 「Godzilla: Here There Be Aliens」, rather than Mecha-King Ghidorah being a form of the regular King Ghidorah, its organic parts are cloned from him by the Xiliens. The Simians later reanimate the real King Ghidorah as "Frankenghidorah" in order to fight it.

Though the fictional military organization G-Force debuted in the 1993 film 「Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II」, it is pre-dated by an organization of the same name that debuted in Dark Horse's 「Godzilla Color Special」 comic the previous year in 1992.

The new RE:BOOT Monsters in 「Godzilla Battle Line」 aren't the first time Shinji Nishikawa has designed a new form of Biollante or a Ghidorah-hybrid form of another monster, as he also designed Biollanteghidorah for the 1992 anthology comic 「The Godzilla Comic Raids Again」.

Though Monster X is only seen transforming into Keizer Ghidorah in 「Godzilla Final Wars」, the last issue of the IDW comic 「Godzilla: Rage Across Time」 depicts him as being able to switch back and forth between both forms.

Gabara from 「All Monsters Attack」 was originally named "Gebara," as seen in concept art. However, the name was changed because of the 1969 film 「Che!」, which was released in Japan as 「Guevara!」, as both "Gebara" and "Guevara" are spelled identically in katakana.

Before it was decided to be a giant toad, the monster initially known as Gebara was planned to be designed after a mole cricket. This motif was previously considered for the Meganulon from 「Rodan」, and would also influence the earliest designs for Megalon.

Artist Kako Yodane based his early concept art for both forms of Biollante on kaiju he had previously designed. He based his design for Biollante's first form on Darling Moray from 「Emergency Directive 10-4·10-10」 and her second form on Leogon from 「Return of Ultraman」.
