Having grown my Zerodha account 5x in last 19 months since I started systematic intraday options trading, felt I am eligible enough to share my principles around below topics that helped me scale up. A thread on my style of position sizing, compounding and handling drawdown 👇

In a high margin gourmet place, you overlook the extra rupee on salt and the waiter’s slow step. In a thin margin street food stall, that same rupee and 10 seconds decide your survival. This tweet is about intraday trading in recent times.

After deep diving into the price action in 2025-26, I'm pivoting my 0DTE short option s/m to one that benefits from a different kind of price action. One that I believe will be more robust to price action regime shifts. And does better margin management. System 5 starts Jun'26.

Forces me towards the drawing board to fix this flaw. Also, after trading same 0DTE short option system from Jul'23 till now I feel it is time for some modification - in search of better margin utiilization with same funda. Have to evaluate whether any modification is worth it.

Moving away from the s/m that generated me more than 100% return on 8-digit capital in 2024 Not because historical equity/time max drawdown was breached. Never done that. Never waited that far But bcos there is better alternative - one that suits current regime & is more robust

Avg 2.8% net profit per month but only 2 out of last 6 months have been ve Having transitioned from non-directional heavy 0DTE intraday short option portfolio to trend following heavy intraday positional portfolio, increased lumpiness of returns is what I have to live with

Transaction charges have increased by 21% since STT was hiked in Apr'26. Haven't tracked slippage closely, but general feeling is that it has increased as well. Rest of 2026 will go into working on optimizing execution with the goal of lowering costs - STT, brokerage & slippage

If there's one secret sauce behind me scaling up as big and as fast as I have, it is Fixed Fractional Risk style of position sizing. Listen to this video to know why.

Jan'25 - Oct'25 was a tough time. Two things I did that helped: 1. Analyzed market segments in terms of leverage availability. 2. Self-assumed the role of a multi-skill (coding, trading, data analysis) Technical Manager guiding my AI interns to do the work towards my goals 😎
With returns drying up in 0DTE, looking back I'm thankful for 3 things I did 1. Focusing on diversifying outside 0DTE space. Today I run 57 setups in F&O 2. Becoming fulltime trader. Gave me time to research 3. Trading with ultra-pro-max leverage in good times. Gave me capital

If there is one thing I want to focus on in 2025 it is allocating my bandwidth towards nullifying regulatory risk. All this while in trading I've been focusing on reducing drawdown risk and value at risk. Time to take a step back and focus on the risk created by our big daddy.

Intraday Range Breakout is a game of balancing 'noise suppression' and 'time-in-the-trade'. If Noise suppression ⏫ => Time in the trade ⏬ If Time in the trade ⏬ => Profit ⏬ If Time in the trade ⏫ => Noise suppression ⏬ If Noise suppression ⏬ => Profit ⏬
