The WANDLA GSE Gen 2 update is now available!
youtube.com/watch?v=wOHMghHf… This update brings some significant new improvements and enhancements:
- Overhauled UI and better accessibility
All GSE features are now accessible directly from the main screen by tapping the arrow in the bottom left. Long-press any button to go to the full configuration for that feature. In addition, there are now indicators on the main screen to show which GSE features are currently enabled or disabled. All the GSE features now have a reset button to restore them to factory default configurations.
- Spatial Enhancement Enhanced
Spatial Enhancement has been improved with a new "Transient Compensation" addition which provides an even more realistic and convincing result. For those that prefer the original Spatial Enhancement, you can continue to use it by turning T-Comp off, or you may find that you prefer one or the other with certain headphones or tracks!
- Tube Mode, now with 100% more tube!
Tube mode now offers the ability to select from various harmonic distortion profiles from popular real tube models. All based on real tube devices, and keeping the original 2nd-order-only option as well. You can also now adjust the strength of tube mode from 0-200%! (Note: Setting this extremely high such as 200% might not be the best plan with most stuff, that's a LOT of tube harmonics 📷, but hey, you can adjust things to your taste whether you want it subtle or a big change! I personally find myself sitting around 130% on most stuff.)
- Impact Profiles and Strength Adjustment
Impact now offers a number of profiles to select from to tune your bass response to your liking.
'Reference' - The original Impact profile
'Reference ' - Similar to the original Impact profile, but with slightly less midbass to provide a 'tighter' sound.
'Smooth' - Adds a more moderate amount of punch/impact compared to the Reference profiles, ideal for headphones that might already be very dynamic.
'Kick ' - Adds more punch and impact without adjusting subbass content much, ideal for headphones that have a good level of bass but need a but more impact!
'DD-Comp' and 'DD-Comp ' are tuned to compensate for the natural subbass rolloff of and linearises many dynamic driver headphones, though these work very well on many planars too!
'Sub-bass' is a more traditional shelf option that focuses on just elevating subbass content. Of course, all done with full 64 bit compute precision 👌
