Tremendous few days at @GolfManchester We’ve all been immensely proud to host the Lancashire Amateur Championship 2026 . A truly fantastic event with a rich history and a list of former champions that includes @TommyFleetwood1 Huge congratulations to all the competitors, and especially to champion Zain Wild. The standard of golf throughout the week was outstanding and a credit to everyone involved. The effort required to organise and deliver an event of this calibre should never be underestimated. My sincere thanks and respect go to Stuart Leech and all his colleagues at @Lancashiregolf It has been a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated team. A huge thank you also to all our staff and volunteers at Manchester Golf Club. Every single person played their part and should be immensely proud of what has been achieved. Special recognition must go to Matt, our General Manager, Steve, our Bar & Catering Manager, and @Jonnyroberts99 for their exceptional efforts throughout the championship. Our course has been presented in magnificent condition, and the feedback received from competitors, officials and visitors alike has been nothing short of outstanding. Finally, thank you to everyone who helped, competed, supported, or simply came along to watch. Your contribution helped make this a memorable championship and a wonderful showcase for amateur golf. I’m honoured to be taking on the role of Captain of The Manchester Golf Club, a club with a proud history, exceptional membership and amazing staff! With my late father, David Leech, having served as Captain in 2006, it is a huge privilege to become the club’s first father and son captains in over 143 years! Humbling to say the least! I’m very much looking forward to a year of golf, camaraderie and doing the role justice. We have some exciting plans & already some prestigious golf events in the diary. The @Golfalot team have done it again with a facinating driver test at the Club. We were delighted to host their test of the new Titleist GT3 driver against a twenty-year-old Titleist 905R driver - with fascinating results. Their full video is online now bit.ly/mangc173.
