I’m beyond thrilled to be joining Tui T. Sutherland on this journey, adapting her fantastic WINGS OF FIRE novels as a television event series for @PrimeVideo. Pyrrhia is a realm of wonder, epic drama and hope for a better tomorrow. I can’t wait for you to see it take flight.

If you could spend summer in any TV show universe, where would you go?

Whether you agree with his (self-admittedly) cantankerous opinions, Harlan Ellison was truly a force to be reckoned with. I think about this interview often — especially when young writers ask me how to make a living as one.

Just saw THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS finale in a packed theatre, surrounded by animation fans. It ended exactly as it should have. Poignant. Bittersweet. Beautiful. Well done to @glitch_prod and team. Can’t wait for the next!

🚀 Star Trek has NEVER been locked into one tone, one era, or one version of the future. In this clip, Aaron Waltke (@GoodAaron) explains why the Trek universe thrives on possibilities — and why new stories need room to boldly go where no one has gone before. #StarTrek #AaronWaltke #TheTransporterRoom #StarTrekFandom

CALIFORNIA VOTERS: Today’s the LAST DAY to vote in the midterm elections! You can still fill out your ballot or visit a polling place if you haven’t yet. If you don’t know who to choose, there are many great voter guides that help lay out their positions and endorsements!

Be sure to drop it in a ballot box or at a polling location — postmarked dates on US Mail are no longer considered proof it can be accepted in time.

The funny thing about animation is that sometimes you see extremely cool things you can’t talk about for a long time. This week has been full of those days!

Congrats to my pals and old #Trollhunters colleagues AC Bradley and @rodrigoblaas on their Warriors TV series announcement! Can’t wait to see what you’ve been cooking up.
The long-awaited animated adaptation of 'Warrior Cats' has officially entered production with some serious animation talent behind it. 'What If…?' head writer A.C. Bradley will showrun, with Pixar vet and Emmy-winning filmmaker Rodrigo Blaas directing. cartoonbrew.com/series/warri…

When I first opened the NextDoor app, I remember reading a completely serious post that said: “I knew this neighborhood was going downhill when all the songbirds left and all I saw was crows” I think about that a lot.

When I was fresh out of college, I had no connections and nothing but a dream. I co-wrote an indie animated spec. Somehow, we got it to Tom. He voiced our main character for free. “Putting good into the world has a habit of coming back around,” he said. RIP Tom Kane. Thanks.
Tom Kane has sadly passed away at the age of 64. He was the iconic narrator of ‘The Clone Wars’ series as well as the voice of Yoda & Admiral Yularen. He also voiced Professor Utonium in ‘The Powerpuff Girls’.

He also used his personal relationships to help get us a pitch at Cartoon Network. He really, really didn’t have to. He didn’t know us. But he did it anyway, because he believed in us when no one else would.

Growing up a few minutes south of Indianapolis, I attended the Indy 500 probably 6 or 7 times. After a few laps, we’d leave the stands and walk through the tunnel to the buildings in the middle. Check out the museum there. Buy lunch at one of many cafes. It was a small city.
This graphic showing the size of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway never fails to amaze me

I know the word “agonist” is just a medical term for a kind of neurotransmitter… But to me, it will forever sound like some kind of demon necromancer D&D monster that specializes in magical torment.

Since a few folks are curious, TV animation often takes a surprisingly long time. From development to greenlight to production usually lasts years, as everything from scripts to character designs to environments and style sre meticulously created from scratch! (1/2)

Sometimes for this reason, it means even a show’s very existence is kept secret for a shocking amount of time. For instance, we finished writing the entire 52 episode run of TROLLHUNTERS for Netflix before it was even announced. Then there was another year or two of production!
