I was at this event as a guest and award nominee, so here’s my two cents: this was brave, and it deserved respect and attention, not heckling and security guards.
South-African Canadian author Kagiso Lesego Molope was just asked to leave the Politics and the Pen event for speaking on stage about the death toll in Gaza. She was interrupted by yelling, then after, was escorted out. This event hands out the award for best political writing.
