The difference between UK's under 16's and the masked angry over 16's rampaging in UK streets in apparent support of the emotional triggering aimed at them from populists (both home and abroad) isn't awareness. bbc.com/news/live/c77yx1jpg1…

Telling people they're dumb fires up a natural defensive response & it's usually wrong anyway. Human brains vary enormously in capacity for educational achievement, but a low capacity is seldom 'dumb'. Human diversity: our greatest asset. Politics that divides is what's DUMB.

So, what makes people with low educational achievement inclined to angry violence? A: economic opportunities that depend on educational achievement. More importantly just now, Social Media that allows irresponsible political actors corrupt democratic choice with emotional hype.

BBC report: The family of Stephen Ogilvie, who was injured in Monday night's north Belfast knife attack, have said they have witnessed a lot of false information circulating on social media. Will Elon Musk contradict them, or defend X (Twitter)?

Social media is clearly amplifying societal anxiety which results in violence and anger. There has to be accountability for inciting mob violence that is effective deterring both foreign and domestic miscreants.

How can the office of US President ever regain dignity and respect in the eyes of the world after the litany of impulsive, self-aggrandising, untruthful, aggressive and banal behaviour by the incumbent? History will surely describe this time as a pivotal reversal for America.

What horror @TheAliceSmith ??? Horror can range from a reaction to a movie to enduring a war that costs millions of lives & crushing deprivations. Having the calm deliberation to put circumstances in perspective should be a prerequisite for offering advice in a public forum.

X algorithm-based distribution is a vastly more egregious news filtering mechanism than all the serious traditional media outlets. Freedom of speech ideals were formulated to protect the expression of dissident truth not propaganda designed to maximise uncritical engagement.

UK's political class are risking the credibility of the Westminster parliamentary system allowing & exploiting the Musk social media hysteria. To Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand & other parliaments what's happening is unconscionable. Don't trash the Westminster tradition.

Re: 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Americans need remember that for 169 years before that they were British. The Westminster system of Gov't evolved in opposition to the tyranny of Kings, but the US created an all-powerful President; huge & grave mistake.

Jamestown was founded in 1609. During the 1600's there were two civil wars in England, the second ending with the execution of King Charles I, after which Oliver Cromwell ruled the Commonwealth of England under a constitution & parliament. America's heritage: Free of Tyrants.

If Americans would like to consider what the UK did when their 'Mad' King George III was deemed too much of a risk, Parliament simply passed a bill (1811) appointing the future King George IV (his son) Prince Regent. All UK Kings are Head of State, Ministers PM are executives.

'Stable genius' is a meme reflecting on the humiliation of a once unquestioned hegemon that's become a laughingstock. 'AI apology' is a crass admission of runaway hype that nobody will laugh about.

UK cannot allow GBNews to dominate the less discriminating & destabilise its politics. Bad enough US Murdoch/Trump fiasco, add in EU & UK means largest security crisis in history. Starmer has no choice, he must fight the hysteria. Security services must recognize the threat.

Why is Musk allowing Russian propaganda to swamp X ?

Best explanation: Nobody else is as willing to pay to advertise there.

China can speak for itself, and if wanted a foreigner to do it, it wouldn't ask for it to be Lavrov. China is an ancient civilization and now the world's top trading nation, Russia is neither a big customer nor economy. It's a remnant of a failed empire attempt.
