My assessment is that Netanyahu is going to respond.
He has a rare opportunity to demonstrate to the entire region that Israel can be trusted - and that he does not fold, even in the face of Trump.
He is receiving quiet approval via a private call from Trump - who will publicly disavow the move, for the reason I outlined earlier: the Saudis.
I think that people do not understand the Trump 5D chess:
Trump must show the Saudis that he is not escalating.
Trump wants to prevent Iran from firing on Gulf states.
So his move: Well I told Israel not to respond - so the US is not involved but If Israel retaliates and Iran retaliates - that is their business not mine and not the gulf states.
One more note: The Iranian response is pathetic. 5 Missiles.
Iran does not have these capabilities that it boasted about. They are pathetically weak
