In Florida, we work to ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly and that public programs serve the people they are intended to serve. That means holding government accountable and rooting out fraud wherever it exists.   With the Medicaid integrity initiative I announced today, Florida will continue leading the way in protecting taxpayers and rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse.

Today in West Palm Beach, I announced major actions to strengthen the integrity of Florida’s Medicaid program and to crack down on fraud:   ✔️ @AHCA_FL is partnering with SentiLink, a leading identity fraud detection company that specializes in uncovering complex schemes to defraud taxpayers. This technology will help screen providers and identify suspicious activity even before bad actors are able to exploit the Medicaid program. ✔️ AHCA has imposed enrollment moratoriums on certain provider categories that are high-risk for fraud, including durable medical equipment suppliers and adult day cares. Florida is implementing stronger screening measures and ensuring proper oversight—not using your tax dollars to pay fraudulent claims, then investigate years later. ✔️ AHCA is launching a comprehensive statewide revalidation effort for all active Florida Medicaid providers, requiring them to verify their credentials and identities.   Medicaid dollars should be spent on patient care, not fraud schemes.

Today in Brooksville, I awarded $3 million for workforce education through the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund to Pasco-Hernando State College. This award will fund the launch of a new airframe and powerplant aviation maintenance program, the expansion of pilot training opportunities, and the consolidation of drone maintenance instruction at the Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport. Manufacturing, aviation, and aerospace are growing in Florida. With expanded training opportunities, more Floridians will be able to prepare for in-demand careers in these sectors—and companies will invest more in our state, creating good jobs and fueling Florida’s economic success story.

The 2026 Atlantic hurricane season just started, but Florida is dedicated to disaster preparedness all year round. We always plan for the worst that nature can throw at us, and we execute those plans to ensure effective response, recovery, and restoration.  I encourage all Florida residents and visitors to have a household plan for hurricane season that considers the needs of children, seniors, and pets in their family. Disaster preparedness essentials—including many pet items—are now tax-free in Florida. Make sure to follow @FLSERT and your local emergency management for important updates heading into this hurricane season!

We have made historic investments in infrastructure hardening and emergency management. Today in Orlando, at the start of the Atlantic hurricane season, I was proud to announce another step to ensure that Florida remains the national model for disaster preparedness and recovery. The Coalition for Operational Readiness in Education (CORE) is a first-of-its-kind initiative that brings together state agencies, colleges, and private-sector partners to strengthen the future of Florida’s emergency management workforce. CORE will position Florida as the worldwide epicenter of talent development, training, and technology at the cutting edge of emergency management and disaster recovery.

Today, @CaseyDeSantis and I enjoyed speaking with faith leaders from across our state at the Helping Our Pastors Engage (HOPE) training event in Orlando. Churches and faith-based organizations have always played a crucial role in supporting the most vulnerable, especially children and families in need. In partnership with CarePortal and the Hope Florida initiative, HOPE is expanding opportunities for faith leaders and congregations to help Floridians in their own communities break the cycle of government dependency.

The proposal is a homestead exemption for all property taxes. There is no distinction based on taxing authority.
Replying to @GovRonDeSantis
You need to tell people that school boards are not included in this reduction Also, curtail school board taxing authority to set their own millage rates.

Homestead limits increases in valuations at 3% or to the change in CPl, whichever is lower. So it stops them from doing that.
Replying to @GovRonDeSantis
What is stopping counties from revaluing property at the county property appraiser determined Just Market Value which ends up still jacking tax rates For example, if home was bought at $100K. County says it is worth $500K, currently taxed at $150K at 3%, newly taxed at $500K
