Remembering Philip Monahan who died 43 years ago today. He served as City Commissioner and then City Manager in Cork from 1924 to 1959. He was noted for being flexible in method, but constant in principle - suaviter in modo, fortiter in re. @corkcitycouncil @FergalDennehy

#OnThisDay in 2019 the Government published 'Detailed Policy Proposals' in advance of the DEM plebiscites in Cork city, Waterford and Limerick. Despite the title, details were sadly lacking and there was much vagueness. We are seeing the result of that now in Limerick.
