Fun fact - I also got to come on this trip to meet Mo, she was so warm and funny.
I think because she sensed I was a bit of an awkward quiet child, she gave me a tin of quality street to hand out, but told me I had to ask each person their favourite flavour, making me talk.
The Comedy Store Players.
This photograph was taken on the day that Mo Mowlam (the first President of The Comedy Store Players) had organised a Players' tour of the Houses of Parliament and Number 10, in February 2001.
We had just made the short walk from Parliament Square along Whitehall to Downing Street.
A five minute walk at most.
But it took longer.
It seemed that everyone wanted to shake her hand or give her a hug or a peck on the cheek or take a photograph.
And Mo had time for them all.
She was warm, gentle and always ready to listen and - when she talked to you – she held your hand.
