The HOLY GRAIL of Magazine Collecting! 🤯 Bid on this amazing collectible in our historic Goldin 100: bit.ly/3QzFeus This is Mickey Mantle's first-ever Sports Illustrated cover appearance from June 18th, 1956, graded an incredible PSA 9.6 - the single highest grade that one of these magazines have EVER achieved! This represents the perfect combination of sports history, rarity, and condition & is one of the most anticipated magazines to ever come up to Auction!

Very excited about the magazine collecting hobby. To see what is happening in the US and there be little or no attention in Europe makes me feel like I have an opportunity to acquire some amazing pieces before the inevitable catch up…

Graded game programs are still very underrated in the collectibles market. One of the exceptions is the game program from Super Bowl I, shown here graded at CGC 7.5. While these aren’t necessarily rare compared to other graded magazines and programs, the demand is high. A similar 7.5 recently sold for $1,240.
With @SuperBowl LX happening tomorrow, a lot of what people think of as junk drawer memorabilia may actually have real value. Old Super Bowl programs, pennants, press guides, and even stadium glassware still show secondary market activity. Graded programs have cleared $500 , vintage felt pennants trade in the $60-$125 range, and sponsor seat cushions still attract bids. Most of these items were never rare when they were made. Scarcity shows up later, as time filters out condition and survivors. What Super Bowl memorabilia do you think actually survives 30 or 40 years? via Yahoo Creators creators.yahoo.com/lifestyle…

ā€œThe Greatest of All Timeā€ was born on this day in 1942. At the time he went by Cassius Clay before changing his name to Muhammad Ali in the 70’s. This is his 1st Sports Illustrated cover appearance from 1963 graded in newsstand at PSA 9.2. This copy is a pop 3 with only 4 copies graded higher across both CGC and PSA pop reports. This issue is probably top 3 of all collectible copies of SI along with the ā€˜56 Mantle and the ā€˜83 Jordan.

I love the fact that non-sports magazines are getting more attention. This is very healthy and broadens the hobby. Here are a few of my favorite non-sports magazine covers.
Back from @PSAcard: A full issue of Popular Electronics from January 1975. It featured the first major story on the Altair 8800 personal computer. Bill Gates showed his friend Paul Allen, planting the seeds for what became Microsoft. This is a top 10 magazine in my opinion.

Here’s another one. This is Country Music Life magazine featuring Bill Anderson on the cover from 1966. The mailing label is addressed to music legend Johnny Cash when he lived in Casita Springs California! This item was sold by his daughter Cindy Cash at auction in the spring of 2025, along with hundreds of other items including guitars, hand written lyrics and signed contracts.

This is the crown jewel of celebrity mailing labels. Michael Jordan Sports Illustrated from 1992 graded at CGC 4.5. The address label is made out to Kobe Bryant at his childhood address. This was Kobe’s personal copy from when he was 13 years old. This piece sold at @GoldinCo in September for $59,000.
