Molecular repurposing, classic case of how chemistry evolves and relies on older lit compared to other sciences. We prepared that bissulfonamide for a completely different application back in 2011. Now used by the Dong lab in Pd catalysis - something we never imagined. Nice work!

The first realization of "O" as an electrophile in a Catellani reaction. Please check out our new breakthrough: Ortho-C–H methoxylation of aryl halides enabled by a polarity-reversed N–O reagent which is now online on @NatureChemistry Congrats to Laoliu! nature.com/articles/s41557-0…

Congratulations Dr Prior! It was a pleasure to work with you.
Yesterday was my PhD graduation. 5 year since I started. On a crisp and cold Birmingham day! Thanks to @GraingerRichard for being a sensational supervisor and inspiring me into the challenging world of sulfur chemistry. Thanks @UoBChemistry it’s been a blast!

There appears to be a cool polyaromatic hydrocarbon masquerading as padding in my cycling trousers. I see 3 coronenes, but then I do like a good coronene.
